Came to this after suffering through a few JRE clips with this guy. Steve is such a sincere and humble guy I was just curious what this guy would be like on a more low-key podcast...and it didn't make a difference. I'd join the bandwagon and call him a narcissist, but honestly he seems too weird and self-absorbed to even limit him to that. I had no idea this came out yesterday. It just happened to be I got randomly obsessed 80s and 90s late night shows, watching the evolution of it all unfold. I discovered a guest who happened to be the legendary Don Rickles, best friends with The Goddamn Frank Sinatra, couldn't believe I hadn't even heard of him. He is rude, brutally honest, constantly roasting whoever he gets his hands on no matter the social status quo, unapologeticly, and most of all he even does it with class. Damn I was blown away. Made me think and wonder how would this guy would stand on today's pc bullshit world and how important the role of comics and artists really are. Anyway it reminded me of DVDASA, I searched it up and no real results apart from old stuff. Maybe I should search Bobby Lee. Oh shit he's got his own podcast now. Man everyone is doing this podcast thing nowadays, but I'll watch it anyway. Oh shit I have to watch the one they have Steevee Weebee on. Man I miss this guy from DVDASA days. Wait. Steevee has a podcast? That episode with Bobby and Kayla was cute and had me cracking the f up. Wait. One with Asa akira? Wait. Have I ever learned so much about Asa for a whole hour and never even felt 5 mins pass and cracked up the whole time? Wait did you just fucking do the same but with Eddie fucking Bravo?!?!?! Then I see this David Choe one, instantly put it on the watch later, of course he got Dave on, probably one of his first episodes, I haven't slept and got some shit to do, if I'm going to watch this, I'm fucking saving it for the most special occasion and give it my 100% attention. But couldn't help myself. I goddamn had peek and find out this episode aired FUCKING YESTERDAY?!?!?! I love the fact that he brings up your voice as one of the reasons why he found you so funny. It's honestly so true. Your voice is so unique and so genuine, you can't help but feel happy when you hear it. I always tell my friends that you'd make the perfect cartoon voiceover. I was so excited for this, but it's missing what I loved about DVDASA (Asa, Oil Brothers, Critter, friendships and silliness) and is everything I hated about DVDASA... Dave's narcissism and inability to allow anyone to have their own shine. He thinks he can do what Bobby Weebee does (DVDASA Hawaii), Rogan, Stern and Steebee Weebee... but Steve is so genuine, charming, and kind. Dave can't even let Steve lead on his own podcast. Without Asa, you just have Dave's enormous ego.

I watched this whole podcast and wondered about Dave’s level of sincerity in his approach to fleshing out the resentments with Steve. It felt like Dave might have been doing one of his classic bits. Then after it was done I rewinded it back to the intro song to hear it again and I payed close attention to Dave and noticed how you can see the pure joy in his face as he realized that Steve was playing next to him and he looked around the room with a smile that was so sincere. I love it.
