That was amazing & exhilirating. I can only imagine how incredible it feels to drive it yourself! We spent a month riding Moab & Canyonlands this past winter but didn't get to do Steel bender. Can't wait to go back and do it this winter. Thanks for bringing us along on your adventure! 😃I love how your fur baby sleeps thru the waterfall. No matter how intense the trail ours sleeps thru it all.

Yes you have to do the Dragons Tail (the area you went down next to teh ledge). Someone had created an illegal bypass last year but its fenced off. The Drop off is a lot of fun and not too bad. Throw it in neutral and just use your brakes coming down. We actually have run that trail in both directions so you can go UP the dragons tail. The shorter version of this trail does bypass the Eastern most flats area, and as you come in the trail and do a few of the rock ledges, you can take a right and it B lines to the Dragons tail/ledge.

Ahh that sounds awesome! There are so many routes we missed over there this time. I think Christian will be happy to learn of a shorter version. 😅

@@barelymadeit nope...We could have completed the loop on Steel Bender Main route and went out the way we came in over the water crossings. Flat Pass was the Optional Severe Rated Exit. The large water fall after the cattle Guard is the Gate Keeper to the Flat Pass Exit. I wouldn't lead you astray! lol.

Which way did you travel the trail? Did you start out on the south side or come in from the loop route side?

We actually went west to east, loop first then flat pass.

Steele bender is rated optional 7 difficulty and flat pass, what we show in this video, is an optional trail attached to steele bender that is rated by trails offroad as SEVERE with most votes saying it's actually harder than the trails offroad rating. According to the trails offroad rating system SEVERE is anything between a 7 or 8 and because most people have upvoted flat pass as harder, we went with 8. Thank you.
