On a side note I plan to run this campaign, the Tiraspol campaign on Axis and the Vistula campaign side by side with them releasing one after another each day.

I found soviet side campaigns a bit boring. You just overwhelm weakened germans regiments with tons of your expandable troops. No need to tactical battle or amy mirco.

I find them the opposite actually. The only exception is the Vistula campaign because you have to be more aggressive as the Germans

​@@BrorealeK as Soviets you can just autoresolve in 90% cases. If it fails you just replace your forces with something from your unlimited reserves and try again until germans are totaly exhausted. There are videos on KZbin, where ppl winning Soviet campaigns by using strategic mode only.

The thing is, the German side campaign is far less interesting. You just let your entrenched units get free MGs and AT and wipe attacker waves one after another. The soviet side involves beaking though several layers of fortified batallions. The issue is with strategic AI being bugged which makes it easy to roll over.

Mmmm same maps as other campaigns is the real no no for me. P.s Still good luck in the campaign. Yeah the AA got me a few times. I alwayd bombard any AA..

Anyone else having an issue where the CAS aren’t selectable to join battle? The fighters can join but not CAS? First time I’ve seen this problem.

Yep, it is a bug. One of many, to be more precise) This is the eugens worst release so far in terms of quality. No, I do like the AGs and the new divisions, they did fantastic work, but this is just unplayable because of bugs. I hope that they will fix them in September.

Funny how you pronounce Iasi. Closer to how it's actually pronounced in Romanian would be 'eeashi'. Still, try Google Translate voice function for Romanian.

Should be easy when you are dug in. It doesnt make for exciting campaign but you can just use trenches n bunkers. The A.i will attack in same place so the bunkers will get them, tanks can be an issue but planes/arty more so. You need your planes to hit their arty. Make sure though you have aa deployed covering all sectors and bombard their AA. You can deploy fighters for air superioty. I didnt lose a battle on any german campaign yet but lots of defensive battles.

All are 1944. 1945 would be too unbalance. More powerful units for Allies/Soviets, and little to no air units for Germany. Germany will also be fielding mostly homeguards aka teens and old men.

I might be in the minority here, but I would very much prefer multiplayer gameplay, either competitive or your own multiplayer games as you used to do. After a while I have had enough cheesing the AI all day.

Really don't like how the axis are on the defensive all the time, it gives you a sour taste in your mouth when you play Germany and have to just sit your panzers behind your defensive line not doing anything. Really hope we get a fall Weiss or Barbarossa campaign in future because the Soviets really aren't my national flavour at all.

@ but thematically, pre-1942 is what makes Germany the ultimate Chad. Let's be honest, nobody ever plays Germany because they enjoy being on the defensive. They play Germany for massive blitz tactics using armoured and aerial attacks.

@@EgnachHelton I've seen it mentioned before, but creating new divisions is actually easier for them than porting them over funnily enough. So far all the DLC have used the same assets for terrain and buildings etc from vanilla. As much as I'd love western front army general, I can't see it happening. They'd have to make a completely new set of maps with new assets and would take a LOOONG time and too much resources. I don't think they'd ever get away from the Eastern front. Now, southern Europe however... The battle of Greece could make for an interesting theatre. They could add new German and mostly Italian divisions, with Greek and British ones on the defensive. Greece was orthodox, so many of the buildings and churches can remain the same as seen in the USSR and the Balkans. We could also get some coastal maps that could maybe integrate naval combat or some sort of coastal bombardment mechanic coming from the British and Italian navies. We would also get some quite unique terrains too, with Greece being very mountainous in the north and mildly arid in the south, with fertile orchards and rolling hills. Would make a very interesting change of scenery because I'm VERY bored of seeing the same steppes maps all the time. These mountains could create natural choke points to make up for the lack of rivers in northern Greece, mostly on the front towards Albania. Central-eastern northern Greece was more open, which is where the Germans made their push from Bulgaria and yugoslav-Macedonia.
