THANK YOU, YEAH! That was exactly the summarization I needed. Since yesterday I was like: "Did I really read, that Shinano will stay? I am old and silly, so I might have misread it... oh look, what a nice little birdie outside at the feeder!" So, I will do a strategical purchase and get me the german DD. I might not be good enough yet, but I may develop my skills in the middle run and then I´ll be glad to have it. When I was a beginner I just missed the "Werft-Event" for the T-61 and I am really frustrated that i didn´t knew better by that time. The way you did this video was really great. All usefull information packed shortly into a must see vid. Congratz!

I got the Prins Van Oranje today from a random Santa crate today. I was just opening my XP containers and I opened it and boom, I got the ship. Insanely lucky I guess.

I actually got the chikuma II Yesterday. I got a small Christmas Container from the BP and found a golden Container in it (1%) and in that Container was a Ship (10%). So i basically got a 0.1% Chance Hit.... To get chikuma II of all ships. 😅

Hello from Asia server, I totally agree with what you said about Prins van Oranje and Hoffmann. I was compraring these two ships based of basically what you said about them. Finally, I got Oranje, simply because I prefer cruiser in generall. But before getting the ship, I watched through Oranje videos from you and other youtubers and streamers. I noticed that pretty much all of them got reload buff and were basically pushing in games. I was playing like that for the first 10 games and result was bad. So, I changed the setting. I put the longer range instead of the reload time and put airstrike instead of acceleration. For the first half of the game (or until your flank dominates an area), you stay back and keep harrassing BBs and CAs. As you already know, you can easily and comfortably hit them with HE and cause fire. You can even comfortably hit DDs in 10-13km. So, for the beginning to first half of the match, you keep shooting and let yourself be seen by enemy BBs and CAs and let them shoot at you, cuz you can easily dodge them or shells can BARELY punish you from a distance of 19-20km, thus you don't need acceleration. Plus you will notice the difference if you buffed airstrike reload time. It becomes very useful when airstrike gets ready 20% earlier. I'm so satisfied with this ship much more than Gouden, simply because of the cruiser dispersion, good shell velocity, decent reload time, and the quadruble-guns. I think this ship is about harrassing with HE against BBs and CAs from a distance. It works very well. Pls try longer range mod and airstrike buff(especially when you get used to 17s strike time. the air strike is insane when it hit bulls eye). And as always, thx for great videos and streams. Cheers

tbh the play style in eu and na is so different from asia that some build does not really work on asia, speaking from experience as an asia player as well

@@IO__ I know. I have an EU account as well. That's why I'm trying to get enough steel to see if it works in EU as well. Again, guns are so powerful against dds, so once you kill DDs, which tend to be aggressive in EU, I'm speculating that you start harrassing bigger ships...

Ah...actually reload and acceleration mods work too. Actually, it's better... But staying as far as the gun range and keep farming HE, then, you get the best result in my opinion. Anyways, this ship is awesome I like it.

Friend got chikuma II , best to wait till the last day if you don't get lucky. Imo only the cv is worth it , hoffman is a worse gun angle elbing but with hydro. Chikuma is an 'ok' hybrid, prins is a decent ship with good accuracy & high dmg airstrike (if it hits). Archerfish looks to close to a Balao almost & it has the worst battery recovery.

Would you recommemd Prins as first steel ship? I plan to go for GL via expedition tokens but still like the idea of the high exclusive thought, that prins will not return when the event is finished. Otherwise I am thinking to pick between Shiki or Stalin.. Would love to hear what u think.

Prinz is decent but gouden is better, then again if you go with shiki there is also yamato and with Stalin there is petro. So it is really up to you

Prins has... 1) cruiser dispersion, not Scharnhorst dispersion(GL has Scharnhorst dispersion)... 2) faster reload time (1 second)... 3) shorter fire time... 4) longer range (18.1km stock) than GL(16,5km)... There is T9 dutch cruiser called "Van Speijk" from reserch bureau. People say, you don't need this ship, because Johann de Witt is better. But I'm a person who totally prefer Van Speijk over Johann. The same reason for Prins, since I see Prins as T10 version of Speijk. You don't necessary need Shiki, because there is Yamato (with legendary upgrade). You don't necessary need Stalin, because there is Petro (with legendary upgrade). I agree with these assertions. But for dutch cruisers, it's different story for me. Prins is a great ship like Spejik. This is ship is not about citadeling ships, it's about causing a constant damage with HE and fire. In that sense, these dutch cruisers (Prins/GL or Speijk/Johann) have quite different roles while Shiki/Yama or Stalin/Petro have almost similar roles (they are all capable of doing what each other ships are capable of doing).

Agree that Chikuma II would be a waste of steel. I got one in a Santa crate, have only played a few matches in it: 7 battles, 57% win rate, and max damage 173k which sounds decent at first glance but that 173k dmg match was mostly lucky torp hits + floods on BBs that had already dcp'd (basically an outlier). It's basically nothing more than "support" ship and by no means a DPM monster or fun to play. By support ship, I mean your role is essentially spotting for teammates w/ your torpedo planes and delaying enemy pushes by spamming torps and resetting caps while playing on the kiting side then going dark (it has smoke and borderline DD concealment: 8.77km w/ concealment build so it's easy to go dark). The the guns are very weak, the torps are easy to spot (1.7km detect), and its torpedo bombers are easily shot down+do very little dmg (they are really just useful for spotting DDs/subs). If your team is bad/sub-par, you'll be frustrated since you need them to be ready to focus anything you spot with your torpedo bombers (you can get off a salvo but again, the guns are really weak and primarily useful for resetting caps). In a nutshell, your ability to impact the battle/outcome yourself is quite limited so if you're a strong player, you'll be bored, frustrated, and feel like a passenger. I suppose it'd best be used in a division to ensure others are making use of your torpedo bomber spotting (which doesn't last long b/c again, the planes quickly get melted). I have Kearsarge and Kommisar - both have superior planes (attack aircraft in their case) that not only can spot but actually do some significant damage. Also, both ships are otherwise very capable ships (strong guns), they'd be solid ships even without hybrid planes. Point being, if you want a hybrid ship, don't pick the Chikuma II - it's rather impotent and only really only looks good on paper ("wow, 8.77km concealment, smoke, torp spam, and torpedo bombers... sounds great".... until you take it into battle).

I got the Archerfish, love the Gato no regrets. The F key is annoying it always activates and the noise is annoying. In typical WOWs fashion the skills are not the same as Gato so need to sacrifice halsey or use him with useless skills

Prins van sure spec way better than gouden with 3 calls bomber with 12 bomb 4600 dmg. And prins 12 bomb with 8600 dmg. That twice higher than gouden. Its 1.5 calls bomber gouden.

Chikuma 2 is kicking my ass in ranked 💀. Between its smoke, torps, and planes, I just can’t push the stupid thing (I mostly play Napoli in ranked so I don’t have hydro or radar)

I got lucky when it was 1st released and got it for free. I think it's an excellent support ship and the torps are really strong. It takes some skill to play, but it brings a lot to the team.
