That was great i worked with Leon McAuliff's son Roger at Rogers State College My two boys would go to Leon's house and play pool with Leon he was a great friend. We got to watch him play his Pedal steel guitar

Talk about tears "nostalgia galore". Tory, I leaned that "classic steel" guitar in 1945. On a cheap Sears and Roebuck regular guitar; with a raised "Nut". Wow Troy; and truly you brought tears to my eyes. Because I haven't played it for decades. But you make it sound like Steel Guitar Rag was just wrote! Oh yes you do. Jesus has blessed you with talented "gifts"; that could ONLY come from Heaven. Thank so much kind Sir. IF I could've played then (I turn 90 on April the 5th); like you play now; I GAR-OWN-TEE "yuz"; I would've been on the "Grande-Ole-Opry!"; as the sun comes up in the MARNIN! Wow!😊Which was my "dream" when I was young.

Hi Mr B. I’ve been a super fan for awhile and totally new to lap steel, not a guitar player either. I’m a ‘now” former law enforcement officer but shattered my ankle and broke my right foot so bad its detached from my leg to the point my leg must be amputated below the knee. To keep from going nuts I finally subscribed and bought myself a new Duesenberg Fairytale Goldburst after being in love with yours. I wanted to know where I should begin as in what video to start with on my new journey and also if you sell any lesson sets or give lessons online. Anything to help. Building my pedalboard now and also wanted any recommendations for it. I’ve got a Sarno Steel Black Box, an L-10 Volume Pedal and Dunlop Wah so far. Was thinking about an E H Holy Grail Max Reverb. Any suggestions Sir? I really appreciate your talent, willingness to share and teach. If not for your content, I would have been discouraged and never would have went for it. Thank you again Troy B. When you play in open D, is your guitar tuned to equal temperament? Starting at 1:10, the chords sound so resonant and warm, they seem like they're in just intonation, or something. I think it's the major third that's especially resonant.

I really love this arrangement. I have to thank my Grandma, who was raised in coal mining county of NE Pennsylvania, for an appreciation of this kind of music. I was raised in the concrete jungles of South Philadelphia. Do-wop was king when I was a kid. Ha-ha!

Hi again Troy. I've almost got this down now. I'd like to try playing it to the backing track. Can you tell us where you get them or do you make them up yourself? Where, or what app do you use? Also what app do you use to playback at different speeds? I'm a subscriber on your site and have downloaded some of your other backing tracks I'd like to practice with too, but need to start slower.🙂 Thanks.
