At 3:45 you say the that the angle is the inverse tangent of the opposite over the hypotenuse, but you then write out and calculate the opposite over the adjacent. Might want to put a note on the video there.

Great series ... as to the math ... interesting to be sure, but if he were to use that smart phone to get a simple triangle calculator online it would be very much easier and quicker ... love this channel.

Why not bend it versus cutting and welding? Too difficult to get the precise angle that you are wanting?
@timyuhas5923
@timyuhas5923 7 жыл бұрын
chillywilly3610 if you have the set up to bend it great. But that requires a press brake and large tooling to bend that. 500 HR. If it was to be done in in the CR you can pretty much forget bending it as it will stress fracture at the bend line. Chances are if you have a welder you have a saw. Much easier to measure and cut then weld than it is to layout multiple bend lines. The more bends in a single piece the harder it is to make with layout of bend tolerances and K factors.

You could heat it with a torch to bend it. It makes a more round inside and outside edge and relaxes from the original bend slightly so you'd have to bend slightly more than you need. A torch capable of that could be had for around $450. This makes sharper edges and a different look. You could do either depending on what style you're after

It’s great to know the trig, but even better if you’re welding or in a trade, you should learn CAD, like AutoCAD. You’ll be able to check your work and produce the prints you need to build complex builds much more quickly and accurately.

Dude you have some serious spaghetti on that schematic. It's impossible to tell where you're actually measuring from, or where the treads are, or where the upright positions are going. You can't possibly be using that.

Why not use a 3d program. I did like the break down of working out the angles but I think using a program like sketchup is also a good idea.
