Steel Quality check at Construction site | 5 Tests

1. Check Tag to verify what is ordered 2. Colour of steel should be greyish red colour indicates corrosion 3 Cut 1m length and check weight . It should match the std weight 4. Bend test on mandrill (dia of mandrill= 8*bar dia). First bend the bar @135°. Then let it boil at 100°C for 30 min. Then bend again to 157.5°. Opposite side of bend should not crack 5. Carbon content should be 0.05 to 0.25% . Rub steel on grinding machine and and match with std pattern of spark to know approx carbon content
