I personally hated the whole 'turning the old cast into evil zombies' thing terrible and the only redeeming feature of MK11 was undoing that, I just don't see what they have against classic characters that they refuse to let them go on before tearing them down ever since Deadly Alliance where Kung Lao should've won the tournament but instead got forever sidelined.

Yeah the whole revenant thing isn’t my cup of tea, they should just let characters die if they want to kill them off, bringing them back as revenants is just a cheap way to ‘kill’ off a character but still bring them back so fans aren’t mad, it’s kind of a weird half step

I believe MK X is superior. Its peak performance and balance set it apart. Although MK 1 had its moments with Invasion and Khaos Reigns, it fell short overall. As a Mortal Kombat fan, I consider MK 1 rushed and underdeveloped, something NRS should have addressed. While others commend MK 11, and I liked it briefly, MK X is my preference, consistently delivering fun.

I think MK11 is overhated. I’ve been playing MK11, MKX and MK1 the last few weeks. I find myself like the gameplay and mechanics a bit more for MK1 over 11, but I find the graphics and movement of MKX and 11 to have a more MK feel. When I move around in MK1 it kinda feels like I’m playing Injustice 2, because I’ve also been playing injustice 2. Which isn’t a bad thing, I like both

Neither was MkX, it became that if you weren't good enough as a fighting game should be. If you are better then you should blitz the guy Infront of you. Mk11 changed that so that everyone could be the same level damn near and it sucked. Fights were slow as hell like to a crawl compared to mk9 and MkX and even the older mks. Here a Mileena Gameplan Breakdown in a nutshell: -Ravenous: Pure annoyingness. Break enemies' ancles with D3 hoping them to block low and then Low Pounce them; Mix them with combos to make them guess if next is a low or Low Pounce -Piercing: Pure controll spacing with B1, and B1, 2. If you are good a neutral this will make a neutral monster. I dunno why this var has Low Sai and the others dont :( -Etheral: Pure baiting, dont worry about doing unsafe stuffs, just EX Fade to catch them on their reversal. My cousins and I are MK diehards. We have been playing MK games together for over 20 years. Put countless hours in basically every single release from the sega genesis to the modern era. When MK9 came out, it blew our minds. To finally have back 2D MK was incredible, and the tag team mode was perfect for all of us to play at the same time. The gameplay was fantastic. MKX came out, and while we were disappointed in the lack of tag team, but the gameplay was so good, we were able to forgive it and enjoy it. Those 2 games are the peak of the franchise, and we'll still occasionally debate on which one is superior. Even without having the deep lore and unique vibes of the 3D era or even the initial 2D era, those games made up for it just with the gameplay itself. MK11 was an immediate disappointment. That game was just lacking the proper soul similar to what MKX and MK9 had. We tried so hard to like it but, we couldn't. MK1 was no better. Too many people focus only on what has the "best graphics" and what's new, instead of having the best gameplay or actually being interesting. Modern MK is so lame and boring. A shadow of what it use to be. I hope that one day MK can be actually good again. But, since it's selling so well despite being a shadow of it's former self, I have my doubts.

Only just dawned on me, most of the endings, except the ones where an alternate winner against Shinnok is explicitly shown, are canon. Well, ideally would've been canon before MK11 brushed over most of them haha. Some carry connected narratives similar to MK1's endings. Pretty cool aspect. Really makes one think about how MK11 would've gone if it was a more direct sequel to MKX. Tons of interesting concepts such as Raiden now invading the other realms with Scorpion as his champion. Quan Chi technically becoming the champion of the elder gods like Scorpion did in the original timeline. The resurrection of Shang Tsung. Reptile, Kenshi and Takeda having gone on their own separate quests hence why they're likely not present in MK11, Kung Lao having been cured from the revenant status, etc. I think the only ending I don't like is Predator's as it's waayyyy out of character for a Yautja to become a Konquerer that decimates worlds and doesn't take trophies, unless its implying he got corrupted like Raiden because of Shinnok's amulet, or that he became a bad blood hunter. About MK1's gameplay, it's weird cos you can tell they maybe wanted variations again or a semblence of them not only because of the kameo mixups but also some characters do have a style change in the middle of the match, especially Kenshi and maybe Noob (Embrace Khaos is more of an enhancer that leaves you Saibot-less after it's used up so you end up playing without the shadow double), and in other cases like Takeda where his moveset is clearly a hybrid of all his MKX Variations. I definitely agree though, it'd be neat if real-time move styles/variations like in the 3D era came back. I do wanna correct the Krypt section, MK1's shrine doesn't require you to spend IRL money, although it is pretty lacking in content, by the time you gain a LOT of coins from Invasions mode you basically unlock most if not all of the skins, gear, concept, profile banners and art, and as of recent Brutalities. I understand the complaint about the microtransactions but they've really learned from the criticisms and backlash the fandom threw to the point they were practically giving out free skins on the lead up to khaos reigns + the update for it giving out tons of free content too (even to those who did not buy the DLC), as well as making Invasions a more fun experience (well, subjective.) in comparison to it's early days. Amazing video dude, I love your content and glad to see another MK vid, your very direct, funny and aggressive style is charming and appealing. I wonder what the title of your MK1 video will be haha (MK1 is better than MK1 ok just kidding lol.) PS: Funfact, due to mods allowing you to play as the NPC exclusive characters (Rain, Story Tanya, Sindel, etc.), it was found that Baraka is compatible with some of Alien's moves, so yeah he definitely lives on with the Xeno.

Back in the day the story for all the 3D games were fairly decent and didn't leave too many unresolved cliffhangers out to dry and wither; can't speak for the Arcade era tho. Hello Steele, i click on you video because i on 90% agree with you statement at beginning. MKX is like smaller but "better" brother of MK9. For example i think story mode is slightly better in MKX, because i was really dissapointed from "tournament storyline" - it was too short and could have actually fill full story mode (that why 1st story of MK9 is great and do that i would like to see in MK9. Also i kinda hate game mechanisms of MK1 - Rounds seems to be shorter and more blank, cameo system is annoying because you canť turn off so its no 1v1 (MK11 do it better by temporal bonuses which you can CHOOSE to use, not being FORCED as core mechanic) and also absence of variations makes a characters fights poorer and meh - in MK11 you can even "make your own". Also MKX has better roster including DLC characters. Is kinda weird that Kenshi, Raiden and Lui Kang are reason why i have 10% of liking MK1 - due to New Era version are nicely done (Raiden as humble polite boy who gets "god powers", Kenshi tragically lost his eyes and his relationship with Johnny is good, Lui Kang is sympathetic as usual and now even non-hefty god). Why is it weird? Because overall most of game SUB-ZERO is my most favourite character, MK1 Sub-Zero is "decent-ish" but MKX and MK11 do him more fun to play and watch in both story modes and multiplayers. Also some choices as make Cyrax and Sektor womans is kinda weird and not talking about Janet Cage. Sorry but other canon womans are better than this - except DVorah - i hate her most of all exist characters. BTW: My most favourite MKX character variation is: Lui Kang (Dualist) and Takeda (Lasher) So i agree with you, MKX is better than MK1 but i think MK9 and MKX are slightly equal PEAK. Maybe unpopular opinion, but I think Mileena’s design in MK X is her best because she has lips in the middle of sharp teeth. It explains how she can pronounce the “M”, “F”, “P”, “B” perfectly

Even people who dont follow the series of MK played that game. Not because of how cool the game is, but because everyone was stuck inside.

You have to recharge the grenades in Demolition variation for Sonya. You have 3 grenades to use and if you use all of them then you have to reload them to get more.

The only thing i agree about MK1 is that the fighting paste is a little bit faster then 11. Not too fast that you'll get stuck in the corner in 3 secs not too slow that almost every move is blocked.

The Dualist spheres have to be paused mid-flight with the same input and they detonate after some time. It's a setup variation just like Master of Storms.
