I listened to this guy for 10 seconds and his offensive knowledge bleeds out. He's a true coach, a studier of the game. He's not influenced my media analysis because he's already 5 steps ahead. In fact, he probably misleads the media hoping their reports will mislead future opponents, lol. This is the best coaching hire of the Tomlin era.

Arthur Smith has done a great job utilizing his offensive philosophy with the athletes he has to work with. He did a great job helping to resurrect Ryan Tannehill's career. I would love to continue to see him involving Calvin Austin and Cordarrelle Patterson. Those guys are difference makers.

I might be wrong but although smiths offense struggled at atlanta.i think being coupled with Tomlin's philosophy plus having an athletic QB in fields maybe a perfect collaboration to get the best results for him.

*They had a big 46 yard Pickens catch called back. And Fields was told 2 hours before the game he would start the game. The OLine also had a Center making his debut and was missing their best player, LG Seumalo*

I think Smith played to the offenses strengths as well as understanding the defense. Atlanta has two great safeties, so they avoided passing to the middle of the field. Had they tried to, Fields could've possibly thrown 1 or 2 interceptions and suddenly his confidence is shot. I think Smith knows Fields potential and wants to bring it along....Fields is freakishly talented and with the right coaching.......boom.

I mean, he was a very successful OC in Tennessee, he just wasn't cut out for being a head coach

@@davecolvin310 *One of the best playcallers in the NFL. Look at those Tennessee teams. They were not that good really but he turned Tannehill into a Pro Bowl caliber QB, with his Offensive scheme. Arthur Smith did a great job with featuring both Derek Henry and AJ Brown, in that he can always find ways to get those players in a winning position or in the right matchup. Uses the TEs as well as any coach in the NFL. PFF ranks Arthur Smith Top5 OC/Playcaller, for w/e that's worth, considering it's PFF*
@natetewkesburyАй бұрын
*The "multiple Offense" with personnel packages and a variety of formations is hard to key on as a opposing D-Coordinator. Throw in all the motions and shifts and the Defense is always guessing. A game of matchups and the Steelers have been holding it close to the vest with a conservative, ball control offense. But that #14 is a rare breed and they will unleash him consistently each sunday, along with the reliable TE Freiermuth. Its the speed guys like RB/WR Patterson and the WRs Austin, Miller, and Wilson that are the key parts in how Arthur Smith uses without giving away their tendencies*

Arthur Smith is playing chess.. This makes me so mad we wasted 3 years with Matt Canada.

Let's just revel in the fact we have a competent OC now who understands the game and speaks it 😁😁

Why not just be happy for now? Did we have a chance to get Arthur Smith before this year?
@facelessman5362Ай бұрын
@@paladin1726 no but we had chances with similarly competent OCs Frank Reich, Kliff Kingsbury, etc. I am happy Arthur is working out though.

Dudes play calling is great! Just these guys need to prepare and perform better because these drives are way better than when had Matt. I felt we have more success in this one year than when we had with Canada the 3 years lol 😂

The reason we ended up with canadud is cuz Ben loved him

No no no, we ended up with Canada because of tomlin. Remember Mike Tomlins son went to Maryland where Canada was coaching at the time. HE kept him after Ben was gone. Stop it.
