Exactly what Bill Cowher said. The media has bagged on the Steelers as if they aren’t a good football team. This defense has been the best in the NFL for YEARS now. They just haven’t been able to maintain with 1. Canada as the OC and the consistency of three and outs, and the below average QB play. This is not a fluke, now they have an actual NFL OC, woth a competent offense, doesn’t have to be high flying and the best and this team absolutely has a shot at the SB, and they have FOR YEARS. Watch a damn game, no defense is doing what this team is doing.

Fields is growing with his decision making, that is all you can ask of him. Early on he looks a little gun-shy and afraid to let it rip, but once he sees and reacts he is very good with ball placement. Would like to see some more timing throws, in rhythm to later routes in his progressions before i declare him starter over a healthy Wilson. Wilson has shown that he can read nfl defenses and make all the downfield throws with anticipation and timing. Fields is not there yet, but on his way.

Unfortunately, I fear Mike Dumblin will bring Russ next week. Tomlin is a friend of the players, rather than a coach, and probably doesn't want to spoil his relationship with Russ. I hope I'm wrong. Yesterday we saw what Fields can do when the playcalling is right and he's allowed to throw before the third down. Before the season, I wasn't keen on the idea of ​​having Justin Fields as quarterback. But he plays really solidly and hardly makes any mistakes. And he keeps showing great potential when Arthur Smith lets him throw before the 3rd down. Yesterday's first half reminded me more of Matt Canada. Two runs for nothing and a long 3rd. Typical Mike Tomlin offense - I hope they finally move away from that. But we still need a WR2 and I hope that can be Roman Wilson if he plays next week.

We have to do without Fautauna for however long it takes him to get 100 percent. If he needs surgery then I will hope that they keep him from playing and just let him heal properly. Similar to the way they handled Cory Tryce.
