The only complaint on Mike Tomlin is the playoff wins. That's not all on Mike Tomlin. I mean look at the teams this guy had to deal with and win with. Mike Tomlin is the best HC in the NFL and I for one am glad he's coaching my beloved Steelers franchise

"The Steelers have been the most mentally tough in the clutch teams in the NFL!". What team have you been watching since Tomlin became the head coach Jack? Last year, in the playoffs loss to Buffalo Mason Rudolph a career underachiever until last year gets the Steelers to within 7 points late in the game and what does the best defense (according to some Steelers fans) do? They allowed Josh Allen to continue to get first downs with his feet, race down the field draining time off the clock and to score a touchdown off a missed Minkah Fitzpatrick tackle. Definitely not mentally tough! How many coaching mistakes has Tomlin made in the clutch? A lot! Look, I'm not saying that Tomlin is a bad coach but the offensive coordinator issues was Tomlin's call. A call the owner had to force him off of. Mentally tough people are capable of making thise decisions themselves in light of the evidence presented before them! Tomlin has not won a SB since Bill Cowherds defense aged out. That's not mentally tough. Hell he sat on Washington as his starting CB last year a guy that runs a 4.64 40 yard dash (for reference TJ Watt runs just as fast a 40 )starting in a press corner position. A position that has Darius Rush a 6'2" corner who runs a 4.37 40... that's not mentally tough, that's just stubborn... there's a difference! Is Tomlin a bad coach? Nope, but he's not a great ine either. He's not Bill Cowher and he's definitely not Chuck Noll. And I'm sorry as a lifelong Steelers fan I am not impressed by his never having a losing seasons. I'd much rather him have had a losing season, retooled in the draft and been relevant in the playoffs vs. his current run of never having a losing season, not making the playoffs or making them with no shot of advancing in the playoffs. But maybe I'm the weird one here who still believes that the Steelers organization is about Lombardi Trophies stupid not moral victories of "at least he's never had a losing season!". I wonder would Cam Heyward, TJ Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick rather be able to say "we've never had a losing season!" or "We've been/were SB Champions!". I guess the way someone answers that question will tell you if they're with the 72 Dolphins who still seem to think that their undefeated SB season of 72 is better than the 4 SB wins the Steelers had in the same decade. Me personally, I'll take the 4 every time!

Tomlin is like Pete Carroll except he runs a tighter ship. Tomlin would’ve gotten rid of Richard Sherman and anybody who was against Russ sooner than Pete Carroll did, and he never would’ve neglected Russ’s O-line and weapons like Pete Carroll did. He would’ve gone after an elite weapon for Russ.
