If we want a QB like Murray than why not just resign Justin Fields? I would argue that he has about the same skill set, more mobility and a higher ceiling to grow. Fields will be less money, younger, and just sat behind a Vet on this team. I honestly think resigning fields is a no brainer.

@ that point is irrelevant. This is Sam Darnolds 7th year in the league, and it seems that he is just unlocking his true potential and just playing the best of his abilities now. Fields has yet to play a full season and played for the bears organization for 3 of the 4. Fields could definitely turn into something great with the right offense around him. Steelers need to upgrade the o-line and weapons this offseason and let fields loose and see what happens.

Steelers need a quarterback who can throw in the middle of the field and Wilson doesn't do that and that in self hurts the offense and is the main reason it would be a major mistake to sign him long term.

There are very few QBs with his physical tools in the league and none in the upcoming draft. He can run, he can pass but he needs to make better decisions. That will only come with great QB coaching and experience. Should Steelers' QB of the future. A better O-Line and more than one real receiver would help too.

With all due respect, you are wrong about Stafford. If he’s an upgrade, it’s the slightest of upgrade and not worth the difference in the price tag that he’d demand. For all the upside that Stafford has, he cancels it out with the downside. Don’t get me wrong, I like the guy but he’s not the long term answer for the Steelers. Justin Fields is, at best, a package guy. He’s got the athleticism, but he won’t get to the level that the Steelers want from him. He will never develop into the QB that the Steelers want him to be. Not to disrespect Fields but he doesn’t have the cerebral capacity to be a big time NFL QB. If he was, he’d already be there. Wilson for the next 3-5 years will work in this system. Although Arthur Smith is mountains better than Canada, he’s lacks imagination, AND fundamental, positive yardage, play calling. He’s doesn’t seem to be able to read defenses himself, which translates to the play calling. We need an upgrade in OC as well. He’s not bad but he’s not great. The Steelers are a good team but execution has been absent lately. Execution, taking advantage of opportunities, and Steelers culture football. 🤞 GO STEELERS

No to Kyler slurry, but Matthew Stafford could definitely be a plus over worthRUSS . We would have a QB that can actually convert in the RedZone and not care about the controversy around his name. Look at him in the lions era, he still went out there did his thing and the year he gets traded he went to the big game. It would definitely add some diversity to the offense, but I honestly believe we still have some work to do with our oline. Defenses are blowing through our line like a piece of 1 ply toilet paper.

Drafting a QB hasn't done squat for the Steelers. Look at all QBs after Rothlisberger; all of them are 2nd string QBs in other teams, and so is Justin Fields. The only actual 1st string QB the Steelers have had since Rothlisberger, is Rusell Wilson. Stop drafting Qbs and get a veteran presence at QB! No rookie QB is going to survive having a LT and a RT that couldn't even block their dementia ridden grandma in a wheelchair from entering their house if their life depended on it. QB isn't the problem, O-line is.
