Me too. My first Super Bowl. My dad was so happy when they won the afc championship game. We were so excited watching the game and I felt so sad for my dad and coach cowher when he hugged his wife and told his daughters “it’s ok sometimes you win and sometimes you lose” I was 7 at the time but I remember it and I have so much respect for Bill Cowher

This was my first Super Bowl memory too. I remember winning the AFC championship game and Dad and I went out to the grocery store right after. There were people in cars honking in celebration, and Dad was honking back smiling ear to ear, there were people on the streets waving towels and cheering and I was so confused because I didn't fully grasp what winning that game meant to our team and to the city. When I asked why people were so excited, my Dad said, "Buddy, wait until you see what it's like when we win the next one." I've been watching ever since.

The only thing wrong with the loss in Super Bowl 30,was the interception that O'Donnell threw in the end. That defense was fine.

These guys had fun, and as fans, we could see that. It was so friggin' infectious. Even to this day, Kirkland rumbling around and engulfing someone with a beefy sack, Lloyd with a huge hit off the edge, Greene with that wild man energy, and 4 or 5 hitting the QB or RB 5 yards in the backfield - that's what the Picksburgh Steelers are to me. There's a bit of heaven in there. Never have I wanted a team to win a Super Bowl so bad. Oh man, for so many years, I felt so bad for Cowher and the team for not having a big time QB. Then Ben came along late, and I knew it, right then and there, he was a guy who'd lead the team to - and I said it that day in 2004 - two, maybe three, Super Bowl wins.

@@dpoe7426 Steelers lost that SB. Cowher tossed him aside so Jason Gildon can start. Gildon was an opportunist LOLB, not a game wrecker like Greene or Lloyd. In the 4 years Gildon replaced Greene; 0 Pro Bowls in 61 starts, 31.5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recov, 0 ints. Greene in those same years: 2 Pro Bowls in 51 starts, 52 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 9 fumble recov, 2 INT. He came in 2nd as Defensive Player of the Year in 1996. Cowher is a great coach, but piss poor evaluation by Cowher, and he killed Blitzburgh. Stats alone don't cover what Greene meant to the city and Steeler Nation meant to Greene. When KG talked about it he got emotional. RIP Kevin Greene.

Although I loved Green, linebacker heaven continued until LeBeau left. Loyyd was a mean sob. To this day pgh still carries the 3-4 olb philosophy however football in the nfl has changed requiring more coverage type backers in the middle. Nobody will ever match Kirklands size and athleticism!

This is the scheme the 2024 Steelers should implement more. Rushing 4 and playing that bum ass zone on the back end depending on Watt to make every single play gets us exposed every single time especially in the playoffs. Tomlin era defenses are nowhere near as creative as the Blitzburgh era was.
