You need a rubber coated net. Stop letting the fish beat themselves up on the bank. Protect our resources!

Thank you all for your great ideas and input on taking better care of the fish. I will be shopping today for a net that will be rubber coated and hopefully provide the fish with more of a safe release.

The fish bang themselves on the rocks every day. If you care about the fish so much. Why don't you stop crying & quit attacking a fellow fisherman. When NFS & WFC are taking your fishing Rights away. You don't know what you are talking about kid!
@AutomagicFishing8 ай бұрын
@@ReelFishingNW easy now brother! I appreciate everybody giving input. I don’t feel I was attacked. Tho I’ve never needed nets unless fishing from a boat, it’s nice to have and makes landing fish easier. One doesn’t have to 100% agree that nets are better for the fish to make adjustments even if it comforts a fellow fishermen’s mind a little. As long as I’ve got a buddy willing to run the net it’s an improvement. (I have noticed that the fish freak out more in a net than sliding onto the bank)

Both are quality players. This Stryker seems to do its job. It handled a 15 # salmon. It was hooked on the east side of a west bound fish and took the beating

You guys really need to kearn how to tail fish and keep them in the water you shouldnt be bank flipping fish your going to release especially when you see its a wild you dint continue to pull it up th bank
@AutomagicFishing9 ай бұрын
I hear ya. Got many comments already. Thanks for insight. I don’t know but think it might be harsher IMO to net fish. One way or another it has to be controlled enough to unhook them. I don’t think we did anything terribly harmful. 🤷 This wild one we couldn’t see fin till on bank. After that we tried to keep its nose in or close to water as possible. Not one fish had any trouble swimming away Guess a plastic net would be a solid investment or just bonk them. Again I do appreciate your input.
@ShenpaiWasTaken9 ай бұрын
A plastic net would be a solid investment, you are right about a normal net potentially being worse. But yeah as you know fish are super weak to blunt Force trauma and have really delicate eyes so whenever those are rubbed/scraped against anything they can easily lose their eyesight. Appreciate you listening and not taking offense to the constructive criticism. Everyone loves to jump on people for bad catch and release which isn't a bad thing but it can come off the wrong way sometimes..

I'm sorry. If you're going to release a fish, especially steelhead and salmon, hatchery or wild, you DO NOT drag them onto the bank. Protect the resources.
