Interesting. So they're basically just bobber floats with slits cut into them and wings glued into those slits. I have floats in various shapes & colors (variety) and can easily cut the wings myself.

@@FTWQ .. I like making my own lures, so might make a couple just to see what they'll do. Hell, sitting at home, haven't got much else to do right now.

How long do you run your line going from your 3way swivel down to your weight??
@FTWQ5 жыл бұрын
I go for about 6 inches up to a foot.

Is the actual spinning glow weighted?
@FTWQ2 жыл бұрын
Not weighted, these actually are buoyant and will help float the presentation.

Could you use minnows like shiners

hey. how do that line tie with eye hook.. and not clear to see .. please show me more clear that way i can see it please..thanks
@artc168810 жыл бұрын
why do you want to make the sure yarn does not cover the hook? will that interfere with the hook-up? i figure it will hide a hook thx.
@FTWQ10 жыл бұрын
The primary worry with it being too long is hook interference. There has been times when I reel in my setup to see the yarn cover and almost "tangled" around the hook point. I personally don't feel confident when seeing this, so thats why I like to have it shorter. Hope this helps!

FishThatWontQuit what about minnows like shiners
@zainshilling6 жыл бұрын
FishThatWontQuit do you just let it sit 8n a rod holder when you plunk
@FTWQ6 жыл бұрын
Zain Shillingvlogs I personally have never used minnows or shiners, But If I was you, I would give it a try.
@FTWQ6 жыл бұрын
Zain Shillingvlogs Yep Yep, rod holders when Plunking. Bring a collapsible chair, and place a bell on the rod. And just sit and soak it all in lol

Can this rig be used effectively in swift current. i.e. deep swift river.
@FTWQ9 жыл бұрын
The rig would definitely work in a swift current. The main issue would be to have enough lead weight to keep it from drifting down.
@Fishnsurf9 жыл бұрын
would this work for winter steelhead?
@FTWQ9 жыл бұрын
+dksk8life Yeah I would say it would work just fine, just need to find the right plunking water.
@jongarrigus46008 жыл бұрын
what size weight so you use when driffing
@FTWQ8 жыл бұрын
+jon garrigus The weight will vary depending on the current you are fishing in. Your goal when drift fishing is to have the weight tap the bottom about 1 time per second on average.

can you just put a worm on it and will it catch Steelhead???
@FTWQ7 жыл бұрын
+Troutaholic flo Adding a worm would be a fantastic idea. I haven't plunked with worms before, but I feel like it would definitely work. My main concerns would be the worm easily falling off due to high Current. Also, worms attract a lot of different species of fish; this may make you get more nibble bites. I think if you put a worm on consistently, you will definitely see that it can work.
@italiantroutaholic89267 жыл бұрын
Option 2 would be a rubber pink steelhead worm!
@FTWQ7 жыл бұрын
+Troutaholic flo Yep yep, I don't see how you can go wrong with that setup! Probably will be killer.

Do you use shrimp with this? scent? You didn't finish! ;)
@FTWQ10 жыл бұрын
Haha Sorry Tim. I guess I left that part up to the imagination. Adding Shrimp, scent to the yarn, or Eggs are a great way to utilize that egg loop knot and allows you to change things up if the fish aren't biting. Thanks for reminding me ;- )
@ericmoore4319 ай бұрын
Yes scent works great on spin n glows. When they spin, it disperses the scent
@ShotGuntomy10 жыл бұрын
Why do people use yarn?
@FTWQ10 жыл бұрын
Mostly so that you can add scent to it and it holds on for longer period of time. Yarn also simulates eggs in the water. Also, it adds a bit of color.
@maquinaseahawksgoonie58017 жыл бұрын
ShotGun tommy i use yarn balls (make them myself) and yeah, simulate eggs and use of scent oil... great stuff
@sgtslippyfist63456 жыл бұрын
Yarn also hangs up in there teeth giving an extra second for hook set. At least for drift rigs
