Heck yeah man! Much respect - you nailed it. Much more rewarding when you can catch the fish on your own but always lots of fun when a buddy gives you the hook up. Look at the famous fishing youtubers channels and you'll never see them fishing on their own unless they have a guide to put them on fish.

I always use my fingers. I put three fingers between the bead and the hook. Make sure you have the right size hook for your bead too. Ideally you want the gap of your hook to be close to the size of your bead.

How do you float fish with that setup in 3 ft of water when your hook is father away from your float? I can only assume you’re purposely bottom bouncing and dragging it down? I’m just wanting to learn is why I ask. Also why run a leader then barrel swivel then another size leader?

Ever try using the head strap for your camera? It gives a good, higher view of the water/fish strikes and the view doesn’t get blocked by your reel and hands. I’m assuming you’re using an action camera (GoPro) Just a suggestion and not a complaint. Keep up the good work!

@ajkubik35886 жыл бұрын
WDTA UT look up trout bead pegs and bead tutorials on here they show you how to rig em. A little rubber peg goes into the hole you slip the fishing line into that holds it from sliding
@geebee3d6 жыл бұрын
As mentioned, you can peg the bead with either a rubber peg or a pice of toothpick. Also, there is a knot called a “bead knot” that will hold the bead in place. Some people have opined that the knot will break when a big fish is hooked. I fish tippets from 4-6lb test, and have never broken off a fish at the bead, FWIW. Either way, that’s how you do it.
@wdtaut56506 жыл бұрын

Sigh, KZbin recommends another great lakes 'steelhead' video to me. There are NO steelhead in the great lakes, NONE. These are rainbow trout. Steelhead are andronamous, and that migration to and from the ocean changes their skeletal structure and their metabolisms. 2:24 Look at the football shape of that spawner. That's not a steelhead.
@troygeer45476 жыл бұрын
Genetically the same. Fish that summer in Great Lakes and return to tributaries to spawn ( even if unsuccessful) are called Steelhead by biologists at DNR of NY, OH, MI, and WI to name a few. Are they all wrong?
