Steelix was seriously one the nastiest things to run into this weekend. The teams were SO RANDOM though. Saturday was fun, but Sunday was just getting suspiciously hard countered all day no matter which team I used.

Had a crazy good weekend running Shadow Steelix in GL Remix. I was able to push from 2400 to 2900 including taking out Kieng (x 2) and Yasser along the way.

I ran poliwrath lead, shadow feraligatr safe swap, and gligar this weekend and I went from 2350 to 2772. It handles a good chunk of the meta and can even work around the flyers pretty well. Only real problem is the grasshole teams with shadow Vic and tropius. You should give it a shot

Made it to legend on Saturday from 2600s using magnezone, peliper and mantine! This meta has been amazing, never did great in open gl for the reasons you listed.

Hey Dan, against Whiscash, Skarmory and Annihilape in the open GL I think some real spice is the way to go: how about Serperior in the lead, Emolga as SW and Skeledirge in the back? Emolga is squishy but it hits pretty hard

The team looks solid! Steelix is trouble for me in the backline. Still managed to get from 1900 back up to 2600 for go battle day so I guess my team was OK? I ran for most of it Annhilape, dewgong, shadow magnezone.

During battle weekend I ran mantine/pidgeot + shadow a9 and shadow steelix. Solid results, I just had to switch the team from time to time due to changes in the sub-meta while climbing. But steelix was/is a beast in this meta with all the shadow magnezones

I Ran shadow Zard yesterday and man it was so much fun just BOOMING nothing more satisfying than hitting a swampert or feraligator from 75% health

You must be in the low ranks!? No veteran or expert will let that happen unless they are trying to check the damage something that any new player does just to check if shields would change the match!

@@lsumaniac2485 but he didn’t mention shields even down or baiting!? Which if that would have been the case he would say something like that!? As I mention higher rank players know their matches! Dan is one that he always at his videos mentions “ I wonder how much damage I would take” am he let it go! It make since to let Blast Burn go for someone that doesn’t know the damage bc Swamper is ground/water should be able take it easy! But mistake am learn! That’s my point at my comment!

I didn’t play this weekend! Still so far am just to keep in mind that not everyone gets to play the same times as one sees in content creators videos… It feels very rush many mistakes been made left to right by opponents am since this are Showcases I’ll not be surprised if the same happened to the content creators!? Funny Dan saying that he got ahead with videos… goes without saying the others KZbinrs felt the same!

I am usually a 2300 ELO player with my max being 2400 and i somehow stumbled into an absolute god squad and my ELO has shot all the way up to 2650. I feel like such a fraud but I’m just not losing lmao.

Quag lead with mud bomb over aqua tail, carbink safe swap and shadow Golbat closer. I played well over 10 sets with this team and never did worse than 3-2. Quag seems like the absolute best lead in this meta tbh. I’m sure this team won’t work in the next 2 days so enjoy it now lol.
