Secondly let us remember that the future of the country is dependent on the GNU succeeding. Let us compromise where we can and collaborate on the bigger picture. We can do it guys, together we can keep SA out of the hands of MK and EFF and build a country we can all be proud of in the process. Let's figure out the details and get it done. Much love. Hi John. I've read your speech to the press club with interest I've picked up 1 important line "If (the GNU) it succeeds, South Africa succeeds. If it fails, everything is imperilled - our economy, our security, our constitution itself." I agree 100% on the need for the economy to grow and for jobs to be created. This is the only way we can have money available to spend and invest. Our GDP has been unsustainable low, and unemployment has been dangerous high. However, I don't see any references to your "security" being under threat. Obviously, the constitutional mandate (S200) of our SANDF and its defence capabilities and readiness must be the guiding parameters. The SA Defence Industry is a significant contributor to our GDP and earning forex, and they can do so much more with the acknowledgement by the GNU of its very, very important constitutional mandate and obligation Best wishes

@@tonitappous2422 How the ANC ‘GNU’ Will Roll Out ...the sun has briefly broken through the dark cloud over South Africa, for but a moment - the euphoria of the DA and ANC coalition will be short lived. Very trying ensuing years awaits the nation - seven to ten, and then, breakthrough. In its endeavour to regain power, the ANC will, by its very nature, stifle and if need be, kill any good policies brought forth by its ‘GNU’ coalition partners to the point that they will either crush it, or take it over to gain the acclaim for it. They will then fail at it because the vision was never theirs and having failed, will blame the policy maker in that they will claim that it was not their policy in the first place. I have been there whilst working for many years in the townships in South Africa ...the coalition partners are naively on their way there. However, the positive that will come out of this is that the much mentioned, more so over the past few years, implosion of the corrupt and looting ANC, giving birth to a blessed and prosperous New South Africa! These birth pains will transpire over the ensuing years as I have mentioned.

Thank you for making the DA position and focus so clear, John. My view is that economic growth and improvement of quality of life of South Africans can be achieved more rapidly by staffing ministries with fraternity elected ministers and executives. Parliament should be representative of all ethnic, cultural and language groups on a geographic basis. Each with the same value of vote. This makes political parties - the retardation power through ideology within government - redundant.
