Hey Stefan, ich will mich mal bei dir bedanken, dafür muss ich aber ein bisschen ausholen. Vor gut einem Jahr hab ich überlegt meinen Segelflugschein zu machen. Deine Videos haben meine Entscheidung leichter gemacht. Jetzt sitze ich hier und vor 3 Wochen hatte ich meinen Alleinflug. Das wäre ohne dir vielleicht gar nicht passiert. Danke für alle deine jetzigen und zukünftigen Videos. Sie machen echt Spaß zu kucken und ab und zu bin ich auch ein wenig neidisch, weil ich noch nicht so weit mit meinem Ausbildungsstand bin. Du kannst ja gerne mal mit der AS33 vorbeikommen in Hienheim beim FSV Kelheim!

Hey, das freut mich sehr. Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum ersten Alleinflug und dann ist der Schein auch nicht mehr so weit entfernt. Zumindest hilft das für die Motivation sehr. In der Nähe von Hienheim bin ich öfter mit dem Segelflugzeug unterwegs und ich bin vor einigen Jahren mal mit einem Nimbus 4 Förderflugzeug dort gelandet. Vielleicht ergibt sich das mal :)

Not really. Only used my iPhone 14 Pro and GoPro Hero 12 as in some other videos. But great that you like the video quality :)

Sound of XCSoar is not perfect but I love the Larus vario, especially for straight flying. It´s so fast and doesn´t fool me.

@@MyKZbin.I much prefer flying without vario unless I'm in a difficult situation. There's plenty of information coming from the glider and I check my avg vario and altimeter every 30s or so

@@naturarum Might work with old and light gliders, but not with heavy high performance gliders. For me it's crucial to know what the air is doing all the time, so that I can fly in "good" air.

Schöner Flug Stefan. Schleicher sieht toll aus vor der Kulisse der Alpen. Könnte zur Bewässerung von Feldern verwendet werden. Es war interessant, die Suche nach einer Steckdose und den Ladevorgang auf einem neuen, unbekannten Flugplatz zu beobachten.

Bis jetzt hatte ich noch an keinem Flugplatz Probleme an Strom zu kommen. Auch ein Verlängerungskabel gibt es eigentlich immer an Flugplätzen, wenn man keines dabei hat. Aber es kommen natürlich noch einige Videos, auch von meinem ersten Wandersegelflug.

Ich habe die HAWK Testlizenz leider noch nicht installiert bekommen. Wie in der Anleitung beschrieben habe ich die HAWK Lizenzdatei auf die SD Karte kopiert und eigentlich sollte sich das laut Anleitung automatisch auf dem S10 installieren. Hat jemand eine Idee?

Getting your license in Europe is abaut 1500/2000 euros, a rental glider can be between 5-20 euros per hourer

At 1:30 in, Besides annoying, what are the tones we are hearing??

Those tones are produced by the variometer. The high pitched tones indicate a climb and the low pitch tones are sink. It allows the pilot to know what the air is doing around them without looking at the instrument panel.

Ist das Leistung des Profils auch noch ok, wenn man ohne Wasser fliegt? Das Profil soll ja auf hohe Flächenbelastung getunt sein 🤔 ...

Klar, ohne Wasser steigt die 33 noch besser und gleiten tut sie auch noch gut. 510 kg Abflugmasse ohne Wasser ist aber auch nicht mehr komplett leicht.

At this flight I was towed by a touring motor glider with 140 hp to save some energy. The tow into the Alps was about 2000 m high. With the electric propulsion system in the AS33 Me glider, I can also make a self-launch and climb up to 2500 m. But at this day the weather forecast was not so good in the Alps and I wanted to have enough electric range to fly back home in case of bad weather.

That Vario beep noise has to be the most annoying sound I've ever heard from a glider. How can you possibly fly with that bleeping away? Ordinary ones are bad enough but this one is just awful. When I used to glide I turned the damn noise off and followed the Vario by scanning it with eyes. The silence was BLISS!

The question is " how do you afford this lifestyle?" To use the title of a long ago book on gliding, you seem to have " no visible means of support" yet this incredible playboy life When glidjng was a poor or at least average working man's sport and we repaired and maintained our own gliders fixed winches and flew less sophisticated aircraft but i think enjoyed it more. Vale' the times when money counted for less but we seemed richer for it.
