Supersonic flight with the MIG-29 Fulcrum- top adventure over the russian skies

I have always imagined how it would be to fly high,at supersonic speeds,in a jet fighter.
In june i had the fortune to experience this emotion on the combat fighter Mig 29 Fulcrum.
With the Mikoyan Gurevich 29,i flew over the Russian skies at an extremely high altitude where i was able to
admire the roundness of our planet with an unforgettably dark blue sky above.
Thanks to the MIG 29’s powerful afterburners and aerodynamics,it passed the speed of sound of almost twice in the stratosphere.
After having seen this breathtaking view,the pilot descended vertically pushing the Mig to the limit performing numerous acrobatic maneuvers:
-Hammer
-Immelmann
-Loop
-Rolls
-Inverted flight
-Low pass 800 km/h
-Alieron rools
-Split S
- at different gravitational
acceleration forces:first at 3g,then at 6,7 and then to the limit,at 9g.
The Mig 29 is a technological monster machine, with whom i lived extreme sensations.

19:07 But here he is happy again. It reminds me my, when I was happy, after my first horseriding, when I was 4y old. I have asked my uncle so many times, but he always ignored me. Then one evening when he was drunk, he agreed. It was completly dark. I was scared and excited. It was fun just first few seconds. After it was just struggling for not falling down. But I was so shame to scream, so I was pretending I'm happy, when he asked me if I'm ok? But I was really happy I have survived and proud that I did it first before my 8 years old cousin. Told him that next day about it, But he didn't belive me. But I had witnes with me. My other cousin. He was mad with me for the rest of the day.

18 minutes in , finally got your naptime..not bad , saw you closing your eyes a few times during rolls and a couple turns it looked like you were getting ready to go. .everything starts getting grey around the peripheral vision and it's kinda scary. aerobatics is physically hard on the body and you have to train for it and work on just staying consious. I was fortunate to have a great friend who Co owned an aerobatic trainer and while not even in the same league of aircraft it still was a thrilling time every ride , after a few times anything under 4G for sustained time was much easier to cope with but that was my limit , after 4 no matter what I did I could not fight off that shrinking circle of vision for more than a few seconds. you really got a rare opportunity to get a chance to fly in one of the world's best fighting airframes. . great video quality btw.

Wow, I would love to try that. That would be the ultimate adrenaline rush. Even though I'm American, I find Russian planes to be beautiful in design. Does anyone know whether something like this is offered Stateside? My favorite plane of all time : F-15 Eagle, Our Legacy plane, P51 Mustang, a Classic, YF-23 Black Widow, and F-22 Raptor.

I'd like to add, this has to be the most exciting and quickest 20 minute video flight I've been on and I've seen quite a few. I contacted the Russian people several months ago about taking a ride in one of these, if I remember correctly it was going to cost around $3,000.00 usd, or $30,000.00 usd, forgive me if I'm not recalling the exact prices but I know it would be worth every bit of that figure where I'm concerned, I just didn't have the money to spend at that time. Thanks again.

i would not waste my time performing cruise flight to altitude. I can do that in a passenger airliner. We would climb to 5,000 and the controls would be mine until short final. The PIC can ride the controls with me during every maneuver. Most of my maneuvers would be inverted.

It's a sort of mirror - allowing the pilot in the rear seat to see the runway for landings, during training exercises (the instructor would sit in the back, normally). It's like a periscope - while activated, the mirror projects an image onto a glass in front of the instructor, the image itself is just reflected from a second mirror outside the airplane (it kind of sticks up while active), thus allowing the instructor to see the runway "through" the airplane for landing and whatever else.

at 11:53 what about the g force ? doesnt it get high cause hes flying toward the ground ? isnt there something called redout ?
@Mythricia1988
@Mythricia1988 8 жыл бұрын
G-forces only happen when you change your direction quickly, so mostly during tight turns and such. You can see the aircraft kind of shaking and fluttering at some points in the video - those are high-g maneuvers. Flying towards the ground usually leads to a sensation of weightlessness, which is the opposite of high g-forces. If you think about it, there's no reason you would experience any strong forces while flying downward... you're really just falling, without having to feel the wind resistance. Red-out is the opposite of black-out... Black-outs happen in positive high-g maneuvers, due to the blood "sinking" towards the lower part of your body, causing your eyesight to shrink or in a bad case totally black out (actually you pass out, it's not just your eyes, but your brain being deprived of bloodflow). Red-out is the opposite, in a negative-g maneuver (such as an inverted loop), all the blood instead is forced upwards in your body, towards your head. This is *MUCH* more dangerous than a positive-g maneuver... It can cause serious damage or actual death, very quickly. A healthy human, even without training, can at least survive brief moments of very high positive g-forces, you will black out but you won't suffer any actual ill effects. The same can't be said for negative-g effects.
