Malawians speak Chewa not because they are not educated but because they put their language ahead of English, the same way Tanzania does with their Swahili.
@pillshomjk2 жыл бұрын
Exactly
@MusondaV2 жыл бұрын
Exactly bro exactly. But us Zambians we see that as being illiterate
@kellylako13492 жыл бұрын
@@MusondaV we have too many languages Mwebantu, 72 tribes, tell me who you are trying to segregate if you only speak Nyanja or Bemba?
@MusondaV2 жыл бұрын
@@kellylako1349 actually about 40% of the country speaks Bemba and then followed by Nyanja on 15% and the remaining 70 share 55%. Which means Bemba is popular and almost 80% of the population can understand it even if they can't speak it properly. But here is a thing I made my point because in Zambia when you don't speak English they think you're illiterate and uneducated. You can't speak your own language proudly in Zambia before being seen as a backward person. Speaking English in Zambia is an achievement and intelligence.

Beautiful interview,well done to you both. The technical crew should be extra careful,work on editing ,the boom mic kept on popping up on camera ,try to use a mic stand if possible,it seems the boom swinger was tired because of the long conversation . The music ku background kept on disturbing us, leave it quiet next time we want to here the conversation between you and the guests nothing else. Keep it up love #hugs

Excellent talks this guy is Sharp and talented,,,, but I don't see Malawians speaking cewa because they're uneducated but they value language too much than English, here in Zambia we use more English because we have many languages so you move a bit u will find people not getting u, in Malawi everywhere you go u even know that all are able to get u,,,, here too much language barriers

First of all, just because we speak chewa throughout doesn't mean we are illiterate, we are simply embracing our language. Secondly yes I do agree with you, malawi isn't that developed koma sizokuti muzikhala apo kumati nyoza. South-Africans speak isi-zulu almost all the time but I don't think you mock them. I'm disappointed how Steffan described Malawi, people speak chewa here not because they're not educated but we value our cultures more than the western especially our languages. ...they define us who we are not define illiteracy! We like you because we can relate most of your content not just because we can hear your language. You need to to get another perspective on our country. And you're going to wonder how mzuzu has a lot of educated people just because you never got to interact with them shouldn't make you say otherwise
