I love the fact that she blatantly calls out the direct correlation of dancehall music to violence in jamaica and how hugely impactfull it is, unlike ALL of these local artists that claim otherwise; skipping around the bush, not taking the accountability of the genre. I think as an outsider it gives her the freedom to express that truth without feeling that sense of obligation to play coy with the culture while simultaneously being a part of it. Plus, she feels like a genuinely nice person. 😌 ☺

Oh they really turn dancehall into a number game nowadays, so whoever is selling more is the kings, I thought it was more based on the dynamic of thing an artist achieve or done. over the course of their dance music career. so if that the case even though Steff repeatedly say she don't want anything to do with the crown a dancehall and she stands with spice as holder of the throne. but if that the way they are judging dancehall music, actually stefflon is the king of dancehall, so mr miller has a point if they do this thing by a number ..

@@Deco_2k How can the numbers prove anything when Spice has been around for over a decade? Are you that young that you're just hearing about her? Spice does better numbers wise because she's been around LONGER. Most people don't know who Steff is. I only know her as Burna Boy's ex I've never heard a single song from her. Stefflon is primarily a hip hop artiste with multiple big international collabs off course her numbers are better than Spice. Steff also benefits from speaking Patwah plus having a farin English accent so both her dancehall and hip hop music sounds authentic . Steff also got her start in Europe while Spice got her start in Jamaica doing only dancehall. Steff was as signed to a big label back then while Spice was signed to VP and they(VP) wasn't very instrumental in her career while she was sign tho them. So comparing Spice and Stefflon number isn't really a fair comparison.
@Deco_2k2 жыл бұрын
Bro, you putting her in a box, you said she's a hip-hop artist that's not even fair to her artistry and if you listen to all of her entire works it's stupid to pin her just to one genre she's just a versatile artist that dabbles in the different genre form time to time, her artistry is similar to the sports a football/soccer, so yeah in football some player can play all over the pitch in some game u will see a player play the #10 role then in another game you will see them play out on the wind or eve them playing a fault 9 or attacking mid, so stefflon is not confined to any one genre, but again like I said just go back and listen to all her works the answer is their man ..

@@misterlexx2721 Dis is how producer and artiste splits work Dis is the 5 sections in random orders #1 copyright #2 backend royalties #3 splits #4 upfront payments #5 ownerships Now two types of copyright the first one is (sound recording) aka "master" producer or a label own dat…. Di second copyright is (composition) aka "song" artiste or whoever write di song own dat. Lets talk producer deals especially working with an independent artiste… typically producers should get between 15 and 20 percentage of net royalties, net is defined after recording costs, the producers fees other kinds of costs like distribution manufacturing dat kinda stuff. Lets talk publishing whoever write/sing di song should get publishing di only way producers get publishing unless dem help write di song. Lets talk about backend royalties so if a producer gets back end percentage they get that back end royalty revenue. Dis mean how are di producer calculating dis after di recording costs are recouped after they make dat money back, once di producer get some percentage they’re entitled to back end of di master recording that sound recording aka "master" we talked about before. example dat money come from streams sales and any master royalties so if u get a sync placement ur song gets the new movie trailer or on a tv show or in a commercial the producer entitled to whatever their percentage are. Now all dat said artiste responsible for registering, artiste must register dem percentage of publishing with a publishing company if u don’t have a publishing company then work wid a admin publishing company and with ur performing rights organizations and don’t worry about the payment splitting distributors should handle that
