If the Bills used him in the latter half of the season, as much as the first five games, then maybe he would have caught that ball. When the offensive coordinator decided to take out Diggs out of the offensive scheme to prove they don't need him and they can run the ball more, then that changes everything, so you can't expect to turn on the switch in the playoffs and expect him to perform. The damage was already done. The Bills messed with his feelings and self-worth, so its that. He will thrive in Houston, where players want to win and the offensive coach knows how to utilize their weapons, unlike Buffalo.

The Bills made the playoffs 2 of 3 years prior to Diggs arrival, so they weren't dead.

Yes and this is the draft to either trade up or down and still get good WRs, if you want that elite one, trade up, if you want that great one, Brian Thomas, Adonai Mitchell, Ladd McConkey or Xavier Worthy could be there, or trade down for WRs Brendon Rice or Malachi Corley. They are everywhere in this draft, y'all will grap 2 solid ones and be youthful and vibrant as long as Allen becomes the leader, bc he depended on Diggs like no other QB did. I mean CJ didn't even target someone 19% of the time, it was almost even, it was awesome how well he spread the ball. Allen has the tools, the experience, now become the leader.

You guys will be fine. You can draft 2 decent WR and pay them peanuts for 3-4 years. The only reason Houston can afford him is because they also have 5 key guys on rookie contracts. It's just how the salary dance is done these days. Skilled players on rookie contracts = NFL cheat code for the salary crap.

Houston already has great recievers and he'll be lucky to get half those #'s. He did the same thing to Minnesota as to Buffalo. He shows up players if he thinks they're not playing well, but when he costs his team a playoff game he takes no accountability.

This is going to end up being good for both teams. Diggs is a better fit with Demeco and CJ. The Bills are going to draft a pair of studs that will make them forget all about Diggs, and the Houston Texans might be too much for any NFL defense to handle.

@@szn1580 For sure. I only worry about Mixon's blocking out of the backfield. CJ could get obliterated if he misses an assignment (which he often does) and that would be a disaster. It means he will not be on the field very much on 3rd downs just like last year when he played for CIN. That being said if the OL is strong enough and we have a good 3rd down back who can cover that duty, that is fine. I still like the trade and Mixon will be a nice upgrade on downs 1 and 2. He did pretty well without Burrow and a worse OL.

Four years ago, I thought it was sour grapes when the Vikings fans were commenting on social media about Diggs complaining and tweeting his way out of Buffalo. I stand corrected. Publically, Diggs is very good at creating a public personna. He fooled many fans and media in Western NY. He did a great job for 3 1/2 seasons here so we can't complain about his production. Yes, he did really help Allen become a superstar but it definitely was a two way street. I have no doubt he will exceed his production above the last 11 games of 2023. Doesn't seem like he'll be WR #1 in Houston which will frustrate him. Publically it will be all roses but i think the locker room will be a different story. Perhaps Houston has this idea as well and were more than happy to void the rest of his contract which gives them flexibility to say goodbye after one season. But hey Texan fans, just call me "Sour Grapes."

Wait he 'fooled' you for 3 1/2 seasons by putting up all-pro numbers? He is just someone who tries their best but sometimes lets emotion get the best of him. Do you think he would have been mad if you guys didn't lose 3 years in a row in such heartbreaking fashion during the playoffs? I do think that Diggs is a type of player that is best contained by a very strong willed yet understanding coach. Demeco can handle him all day and CJ looks like a great leader in the making. He is hyper focused on hyping his team up and working to make them better. You guys will be fine. Tons of really good WR in the first and second rounds. This is just a better fit for both teams really. Then you will also have 2 skilled players on rookie contracts, which will allow the Bills to upgrade a bit come next year's free agency period, much like the Texans did this year.

Houston gets a 3rd round comp pick if and when Diggs leaves to another team in 2025. So Houston will have gotten a 3rd, 5th, and a (2) 6ths for a 2nd they gave Buffalo. So far the Texans have gotten Stefon Diggs, a 2nd, 5th, and (2) 6ths for their #23 pick. If anything Houston fleeced everyone else.

I don't think you understand that the one year deal enables us to get the best version of STEFON DIGGS cause players play best when they know they aren't secured a spot at the end of season and an unsecured spot means ZERO incoming money in the bank. That is always one hell of a motivator. Also Diggs already has made a name for himself in the NFL all he has to do is prove that he is still a top 5 WR like he did the start of the Bills season last year and many teams will offer him million dollar contracts for 3 years.
