I've changed my clutch by removing the seat and hanging the transmission from two pipes across the floor boards. Pipes were easily slid on the floor to separate transmission from engine. From Watching your videos, this will be easy fix for you. Make sure the intermediate plate slides on the pins. They can bind up if rusty or dirty. Sadly, thats why mine wouldn't shift. I bought it cheap that way expecting much bigger problems and that was basically all that was wrong. Cheap fix, cheap tractor, the fun driving it,priceless 😂.

Thompson used those old 3208's in concrete pumps since way back when. They ran a bit longer than an Energizer Bunny could ever dream of. I'm curious about what would have made that throw out bearing fail? It has quite a few hours on it and most likely had a few nasty shock loads on it, that and it is getting pretty 'vintage' as well. If I did video's about repairs like this they would be almost silent movies after editing out the cussing. I hope your repair goes smoothly.

An easy way to get those duals off is to lay down a big post, railroad tie or chunk of small power pole so it goes between the tires and drive across it. 9 times out of 10 it will act as a wedge and pop the dual right off, provided both tires are fully inflated.

Sorry to hear about the clutch failure. I would think pulling the floor pan and seat out of the Steiger. You will need a line up tool unless you have a big access cover in the transmission. If you watch Warren at Western Truck and Tractor Repair, one of my favorite KZbin Mechanics, he puts the clutch on the input shaft and bolts it up through the inspection hole, using the transmission as a alignment tool. Probably going to need to have flywheel resurfaced Good luck, be safe

You need a big ol’versatile, my 700 there is a shaft you remove between the engine and transmission. Leaves enough room for a guy to hunch up in there and pull the clutch off the back side of the engine. Took us about and hour (by us I mean a mechanic buddy who knows what he’s doing) to pull it all out and about another hour to put it all back together. Only thing that gave us grief was finding a new input shaft. It was like finding unobtainium. We ended up getting a machine shop to rebuild it. Good luck there.

Stop signs who needs stop signs..... they overated... if its got a commercial truck clutch in it may I suggest you get a spicer easy pedal plus self adjusting clutch.. for it.... another thing you will need is an input shaft the same size as your tractor trans for an alignment tool... a truck clutch has 2 clutch discs with a center plate in order to align the clutch discs you need this shaft...also some bolts without heads might be able to help you align the plates till you bolt the clutch back in the flywheel.... dont remove the Bolts in the flywheel till the clutch is bolted tight to the flywheel you also need to install a new clutch brake... Ive worked as a mechanic in commercial trucks... they are not that difficult to install... another tip is to take the flywheel in and get it turned... and dont forget to replace the pilot bearing ... by the way ether works good to reinflate tires on beads...

@@jtsbarnngrill6873 but I've seen people do stuff like that. My grandpa is a prime example. He said the flywheel in our 1466 was good enough to run again without turning it or anything. It was heat cracked and worn down. I wasn't putting a clutch in without a new flywheel. Make sure there's plenty of life left on the flywheel as well but being a semi flywheel it will probably be good enough to turn and send it again.

Easy Pedal clutches are not self adjusting. The self adjusting clutches are called Solo clutches, which in my past experience are utter garbage. The Easy Pedal clutches have a manual adjuster on them. Also, the best way to install the clutch is the way we do it on the big trucks, that is to install the clutch on the input shaft piece by piece and then install the transmission. That way everything is aligned perfectly and you can bolt up the clutch through the inspection hole. 😊
