I worked at a Steiger dealership. On some (bigger) tractors, we would remove the transmission output yoke, remove the dropbox input yoke, dropbox front output yoke, some tractors the front axle yoke. We had a pipe in the cab, roller, coffin hoist with extra chain. Good luck! Looks like you are on your way! Hello from north east Montana. 10 miles from the Canadian border.

After 40ish years, if that's the first time it had to be pushed in the shop, that's a damn fine piece of equipment. I'd quite proud of that. I've got a Bearcat 3 that's going to get a rebuilt engine and transmission this year.

Is there going to be a video of the installation on the rebuilt transmission ?

I have a ST 310 panther and the master and slave cylinders went out for the clutch and it got stuck in third gear. I replaced the cylinders and now I have to figure out how to get it out of gear besides that it’s been a good tractor but it’s definitely time for a lot of maintenance.

I've pushed and pulled equipment out of the field with less than three digits on the hour meter. JD and some of their hydraulic pumps...

Easiest way is to run the Steiger up on 6 to 8 inch blocks. Then drop the transmission down on a dolly and wheel it out between the tires

We've got a Kr1280 Cougar that needs this same treatment. But it's got an Allis Chalmers transmission. So once it's out, I'm not sure how to find another or rebuild this one.

Why do you think it needs pulled?

@@RJ1999x 4th is out I believe and the clutch isn't engaging/disengaging properly. I believe it's a hydraulic setup that's internal? It's been at a shop for a year and hasn't been addressed yet. So it's looking like we may have to do it ourselves.

@@schm2918 There is no clutch on thst transmission, it an inching valve, easy to diagnose with gauges. If I had to guess the pivots on the clutch pedal are wore and the cable is stretched and the dealer probably never told you to not jam the pedal to the bottom, it applies the tran brake

@@schm2918 4th gear may be the zip tie that holds the cable in place is broke from age letting the cable move, and it's also stretched, along with the range shift

@@RJ1999x we have a few tractors that applying the clutch to the floor engages the Trans brake, but that's a good point! I will have to head over and check those spots! Where can you get a new cable if ours is stretched?
