I've had that exact shovel for 5 years now. I love it.

I made my own with a 1m wide 300mm PVC pipe that I split into thirds and connected a floor squeegie handle to. Works like a charm even though it is a bit heavier than yours.

These types of shovel really excel at pushing smaller amounts of wet snow. When snow/ice freezes to the concrete they aren't so great, so I have a steel blade and a dedicated edger for ice removal. I put uhmw on my tractor snow blades, and even as an experiment under the scraper of the snowblower (ripped to match angles and made an insert with a square bottom edge - hard to explain in words). Uhmw is an awesome material for not scraping up the driveway!

Really nice for powdery snow too. I have the 48” one and it’s ridiculous how quickly it makes work of powder compared to the something in the 1.5-2’ width range

Really moves a lot or snow with a very clean scrape. Makes me want to give you a break and do it myself. All the best!

I couldn't find SnowPlow products in Ontario, Canada. instead I found a similar one (different manufacturer) with same 30" width at Lowe's. When a Lowe's staff brought it to my car, I didn't really expect the size. its bigger than I thought. I'm petite and never used shovel over 24". :-P I am excited to try this new one out. I referred your video to purchase it. Thank you sir!

You must be refering to the Kobalt version. I bought one from Lowes a few years ago and it's been awesome. It makes snow removal more easier and faster. I hope your shovel has worked out well for you.

Seems like you could benefit from the wider ones with as much as you have to clear. But I see your point about the ease of pushing. You provided great views. Thanks.

The narrower the blade, the easier it will push through heavier snow. I wasted my money on a 4 foot snowcaster wheeled pusher, because I thought the 3 footer is so great, a wider bladehas to be faster and easier 😂 but no, it picks up more snow and is incredibly heavy, even in shallower depths of snow.
@warriorloft2 жыл бұрын
@@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power how's your 3' snowcaster wheeled pusher? I was looking on Amazon and some people claim that the blade is not parallel-y close to the ground.
@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power2 жыл бұрын
@@warriorloft That thing _rocks._ I will forever buy the 3 foot pusher for light to moderate snow on walks, driveways and small lots as long as I live or do business anywhere it snows. It might even work for pushing leaves on pavement 😂 And it's not like I hate the 4 footer; it mainly comes down to: the the 3 is the best of both worlds for walks and driveways. I didn't eyeball the blades for straightness when I bought them but they all scrape true enough ( if the ground is level ).

Seen complaints of blade warping during storage. Anyone had that issue?
@steiger2563 жыл бұрын
I have not had any. I store mine out of the sun in a cool temp garage. I am curious to hear if anyone else has had that issue.

The manufacturer says that if you store it in an attic during the summer, the blade MAY warp. They also say that you can warm the warped blade up and bend it back into shape. Your may have to overbend it a bit as it may try to revert a bit back into the warped shape. So overbending is what they suggest you may have to do. They also sell clips for a dollar to hang your shovel up so the shovel doesn't rest on the blade. They also state they've never come across a warped blade that they couldn't easily bend back into shape. I guess the thing to take from all this is to not store them in a hot attic during the summer.

How quickly does the blade wear down?
@d1fballplayer3 жыл бұрын
Ive worn off about 2 inches in 5 years using it a lot... it wears far better than a metal blade. Its lighter than a full metal blade but heavier than an aluminum blade with metal edge. By far the best pusher blade ive ever used and ive broken many😬... once you wear off the square edge, it pops up thick ice as good or better than a metal blade without worring about folding the blade corners. The corners have slightly curved back over the years but not to any detriment of its use (this was from frequently using it to break up 4 to 6 inches of road ice, not the tool for the job, just the one i had in hand and it got it done😂) The edge wears to your normal pushing angle fairly quickly.. if you get to rough asphalt you tip it down a bit and the thickness of the edge allows you to push over it unlike any thin blade, this is an amazing feature! (Once youve warn off the square edge😂, this will piss you off til you wear it down if you expect my previous statment out of the box) I actually just broke the handle (split down the middle on both sides for half the length 😕) its definitely gotten a lot of use on it but its a perfect split on both sides, like it found its seem or somthing🤷🏻♂️. I have the 30in blade and its great for up to 2in of wet snow and 6 or so of dry snow for efficient pushing.. of course you can do more but you better be a strong💪pusher 😄. So yeah, its not a scooping shovel and a wide blade certainly makes this more challenging... if you intend to do scooping id suggest no more than 24in blade and you could be pretty efficient in deeper snow being able to scoop periodically (id say the best for average home owner unless you only ever get very light dry snows)... wide blades are amazing for sidewalks when you can run it at an angle pushing the snow off the curb. Its a tool, and every one takes a bit of practice to master. I use the bully tools shovel for my scooper but honestly hardly ever get it out (its a great product too, just a different tool that i mostly just use where the snow blower cant go) For whatever its worth.. figured id share all my thoughts since i took the time to respond😄
