I grew up with a 961 and a 981 tractor ... Dad currently is restoring a 640 tractor... We did practically everything with the tractors ....we had practically all of the Ford attachments for those tractors ... 2 row rear cultivator a 4 Row front mount cultivator ...we had a rear mounted 3 point mower and crimper we had a 4 ppont blade .. even ran the Ford 540 Bailer with them

My dad has a 195? 8 N that was fully rebuilt and painted. I used it once with a brush cutter and hit a stump and it launched. Scared him so it has just sat in his barn for 13 years. My son and I want to buy it from and get it going again. Thank you for the tips. Look forward to seeing more.

That really is a great-looking tractor. I've seen how well tractor restoration projects can come out when the owners put in a little bit of time and effort to making it look attractive. I know a farmer who restored a vintage International 140, and still uses it. It looks absolutely stunning.

Awesome job!!! I have a '58 861 that runs great, but needs some hydraulic work done. I'm fortunate enough to live only twenty minutes away from Steiner's...replaced the emblem, proofmeter and a few other minor parts on the road to a full restoration. For now it's our workhorse, but down the road I hope to get it back to close to the day it rolled out of Dearborn.

Just found this video. Dad had a 1953 Jubilee and now my brother owns it. I understand you really like the Magic Paint but you are missing a very important point. The paint seems to work there but to really recommend the paint maybe you should ship the tractor here to see how it holds up to the Florida sun for a decade or so. Just throwing that out there. Let me know when it will arrive. Love those old Fords.

Good for a year then turns chalky. You really should put some clear coat over it for UV protection. Speedo Kote makes some good quality products at fair prices.

I can't wait 24 hours between coats ... I'm not using the catalyst either . Reducing with naptha reducer at 50 degrees and shooting it ... I'm hoping for no problems cracking the paint ... Guess I will see what happens . I paint cars for a living .. 30 years . I'm hoping that evaporation is so slow that it won't craze . Crossing my fingers .

How did it come out? How about reducing w/ acetone? harder make flash lot quicker- tac coat wait 20 min on decent day hit medium coat - Then wait but final coat wet-

Wow. VERY impressive. Some day I'll do my Ford 3600 like that - blue, of course. How long did it take you to tear the tractor down to paint? Also, I've heard people use the term "paint bomb." I like that you didn't paint the black rubber, etc. Is it standard to paint the bolts and everything?

@MusicandMachines4 жыл бұрын
Phil Hall , I’m sure it will, but if you use the hardener, make certain that you use the appropriate mask or fresh air system. It has some BAD stuff in it. The Agco massey paint I used on engine chassis went on and stayed on MUCH better than majic.
