I bought these Steiner Skyhawk 4 10 X 42 binoculars when they came out, I can't praise the performance of these binoculars enough, they are robust really well made like Russian tanks, the optics are first class, they really are worth every penny.

just curious here, to my understanding the Russian tanks do not perform so well in the Ukraine war, do they? Maybe the comparison is a little off at this point, possibly?

Thanks for the Review. Question.. is the Steiner Shyhawk better than the Zeiss Terra ED ?? And would you recommend 8X42 otr 10X42 for Hiking/Birding?

This is exactly my question as I am about to purchase one of them for birding as well. I tried both yesterday at a store and I like the Steiner Skyhawk a little more. I am aiming for the 10x42 version but heard and read that the 8x42 has many advantages like a less shaky view, a broader field of view and slightly brighter colours. On the other hand the bigger version has a larger zoom and therefore it might be better for watching birds of prey. Also you have to know if you plan to go out at dusk, because the 10x42 is better for that and the 8x42 is better for daylight. All in all I think you can´t go wrong with either of them:)
