Wow. One of my new favorite pianos. Up there with the best Hamburg Steinways. Unique sound.

Can’t believe this has so few views - truly outstanding piano, amazing tone, but really, the story here is the performance, it’s jaw dropping wow 👏👏👏👏👏

I love Steingraeber - to me they are like the ultimate pair of reference flat response headphones. Perfectly balanced and as transparent as glass. Fazioli is the only other brand that compares to that to my ears.

Beautifully played and fascinating piano. Almost unremarkable, in the sense that it responds only to the pianist without putting any special color of its own on the top. But the crisp PP and powerful FF are hard to beat. One of those with a Mozart rail would be an insanely good chamber music instrument.

Thank you for the comment. It is a rather remarkable piano in that it has its own distinctive voice while at the same time not being intrusive, allowing the music to speak for itself. We currently do have an E272 Steingraeber concert grand with a Mozart rail. We just made a nice video on it. Stay tuned!

@@pianocraftchannel Any possibility of recording Steingraeber uprights? There are next to no good recordings of those available on the web, and it would be interesting to compare, say 122 vs 138, or the various actions.

I love how Steingraeber appropriated a few design traits from the old Bechstein E270 of the late 1960's (a very special piano, now long out of production)

@@BleedingEdgeOfProgress The old Bechstein model E had a wonderful sweetness that seduced Debussy, Ravel, Shostakovich, Schnabel, Furtwangler, Erdmann, Kempff, Bolet and Bernstein. That's just to name a fraction of the people who loved it. Very different style of construction from a Steinway, to say the least.

Lovely piano. I've never had the privilege to play a Steingraeber but I've never heard a recording of one that I didn't like. Do the actions tend to lean more towards the heavy or light side?
@pianocraftchannel
@pianocraftchannel 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Alex, thanks for commenting and I am glad you like the piano! The Steingraeber actions are not too heavy or too light. They are right in the middle. However, they are very responsive and the sound is very responsive so they can feel a bit lighter than a piano that is less responsive. I would suggest trying one and finding out for yourself!

I tryed one once and was amazed by the dynamical possibilities. You can play softly and you can always play louder because the piano has an immense power. But it's we quite costly...
@death2pc
@death2pc 3 жыл бұрын
@@Johannes_Brahms65 Why buy German such as this stupid Steingraeber, or Austrian, for that matter American or Japanese when you can have Chinese? The Chinese make, hands down, THE best pianos and they're not very costly. You can order them direct from the prison, I mean factory and they'll mail it right to your front door!
