Interesting solution for the things that Lego overlooked or decided to make some design choices, sacrificing one thing in favor of another, like the lack of space for "Finn" to come along. Still, this set seems like a step in the right direction, it looks great, no stickers and is reasonably priced.

I put a droid head from star wars instead of the battery pack.

This ship almost does seem like an alternative to the A-Wing (if given blasters and Rebel Alliance markings in place of City Space insignia.)

like it how the 2 sides of the rear engine fits together when they close. Nice.

On mine, I moved the space logo tile to the front square and installed the drone in it's old space. I like your idea of two 1x2 tiles instead of a single 2x2 - much more solid connection for the drone. I also added a fourth swing booster to my ship. You just need to swap out the black 2x3 tile for a 2x4 to give you attachment points for an extra booster on the bottom of the ship.

Adding that fourth swing booster adds so much to the ship, great idea.

Great idea to add the drone up to the top and Greta use of spare pieces! Thanks for sharing!

Those are some great mods. I am definitely going to do the one on the back to give Finn a place to sit. I added some maneuvering jets under those flaps on the back just add a 1x1 square with the claw on top and stick an orange cone on the underside. I also found a nice upgrade for Finn and the other robots was to replace that clear blue piece with a printed set on eyes from the Lego City Space robots from 2022.

I think a good addition would be a fourth arm to the hyperdrive engine assembly. Basically just replicating the top arm on the bottom so you get a nice fully symmetrical opening back there. Just feels like it’s missing a fourth arm. 🤔🤷

I agree, at first I didn’t notice anything was missing, but adding it was so easy and makes it look much more complete. I did notice that with four hyperdrive arms open, the side profile looks a little unbalanced. did you add anything to the bottom of the ship to balance it out?

@@SatisfyingBrickI added some landing gear that folds up. Done a lot of other mods to this. It’s kind of one of those sets I keep next to MOCs I’m building and when I’m struggling with my MOC designs I will fiddle around with modding this set some more just to do something different! Currently the ship is looking more akin to a Star Wars universe ship, I’ve simplified the colour scheme and completely redesigned the top section in particular getting rid of the battery box. Currently I’ve just got an inverted stud in its place but ideally I’d like to get an astromech head in there as I think it could be mounted on top using a Technic axle but I don’t currently have any. I don’t typically do minifigure type stuff (closest I’ve got is my UCS ATAT) and I don’t have an astromech head unfortunately.

I really enjoyed this set. I made a few modifications myself. I love the creativity with this series, you can make your own story and characters.

Love the prism idea, will probably mod mine to do the same.

I like the cheese wedge additions to the engine. You can add an inverted slope on the bottom to give it 4 parts that open to make it into a full starburst engine.

I WOULD ADD A 2X4 TO THE TOP OF THE WINGS MAYBE THE BOTTOM TO REINFORCE AND CUT OFF THE SPLIT WING JIGGLE EFFECT MIGHT BE BULKY BUT IT WOULD BE SECURE
