The main thing that makes a game "like Blue Archive" in the way that matters is the focus on character writing. If we're being real in that regard Blue Archive is "like Priconne" (RIP GL server btw). Seriously, the amazing characters with their charming personalities and simple but cute designs is the entire raison d'etre of the huge fan community for games like Priconne and Blue Archive. As this game has interesting characters, a bond story mechanic and a general focus on character writing above lore, then its a win for me. That's the kind of gacha game I tend to love and why I fell so madly in love with Blue Archive and its characters.

Blue Archive is Korean, this game is Chinese. It has the same aesthetic as BA but definitely not made by the same devs. Basically, BA An Epic ARPG.

BA is by nexon, and this game is by Yostar, two entirely different companies. Although, I do believe there are some HUGE similarities between the two games, which leads me to believe there might be some correlation with staff or members of Nexon being related to Yostar.

Yostar does the JP and CN localization for BA, as well as marketing and distribution for those countries. Yostar was in charge of the anime (although collaborating with BA staff) but not the in-game content (on paper that responsibility should belong to mostly Nexon).

The strangest part is that, despite being published by Yostar, there is no studio taking credit for its development and production just yet. The privacy policy and EULA claim that Yostar HK is responsible for this game, but whether that denotes the studio or simply the business department that is based in HK isn't exactly clear. Also kinda weirded out by the iconography (tall stele pillars marked with a star, just like the Sanctum Towers in BA) as well as the similarities to BA assets (one of the character L2Ds is similar to Dress Ako's in terms of posture and angle). The UI layout is different enough, but the similar icon and fonts feels very familiar. The male and female protagonists are a bit similar to hwansang's (one of the main BA artists who left Nexon) works in Elsword, particularly his characters lu/ciel. I dunno, it just feels very odd that Yostar would suddenly make a first party game when they are traditionally a publisher for Hypergryph, Yongshi, and Manjuu. Nexon recruited Yostar to help localize the game to Japan, but then why has Yostar risked cannibalizing revenues and target audiences with a game that has a lot of the same elements as BA?

Who are we: We are old fans of StellaSora who have been expecting this game since April. What Yostar did: This company is developing StellaSora and is running several games in Japan and China, including Blue Archive, Azure Lane, and Arknights. The company is consistently involved in controversies. For years, Yostar has been donating money to Japanese Museums which conducts propaganda on whitewashing Japan’s fascist military and invasion of neighboring countries during WWII and worshipping war criminals. In April, they sent Blue Archive characters to another game MahjongSoul during its collaboration, in which the BA characters flirted and even got married to the main characters of MahjongSoul, irritating BA players (If you like any of StellaSora’s characters, this is likely going to happen to you, so enjoy your NTR contents). The player protested under their account, resulting in over 200,000 comments within a few days, but Yostar played dead and kept deleting comments and blacklisting players. Yostar created its player channel on QQ, imposing strict speech censorship and curfews on a digital platform. All accounts are not allowed to post anything during the night, and any speech against Yostar will result in an immediate ban. After StellaSora was announced, their comment sections were filled with angry victims of Yostar, while Yostar kept blacklisting people, deleting comments, and buying bot comments and click counts on almost all platforms. Now they have chosen to only allow selected comments to be displayed on several platforms, but laughably the selected comments are mostly bought bots. This is only part of their doings. Why are we spamming the comments: Yostar has backstabbed its players and remained silent about its mistakes. Compared with the damage they have done to its player community, Yostar paid little price for its backstabbing. All we could do was to stop paying for their games, protest under their accounts, and letting people know this game company is far from being trustworthy.

I really don't understand everyone's need to scream "BLUE ARCHIVE 2" at every single gacha game that comes out This is well far removed from BA in every aspect to be it's own thing. Just because it uses the common successful elements of popular gacha games doesn't make it a copy of anything. Besides, current market has exactly 2 gacha model archetypes that can net developers higher chances of success and profit: its either Hoyo-like or Nexon-like so of course ita gonna be closer to one or the other

So, is Yostar going to make their own game again? I think the previous one they planned to make was Nekopara Kaiten, but it never actually happened. I wish they make the combat similar to Endfield, I'm tired of character swapping. Both Azur Lane and Blue Archive are Party-based combat, why not just copy it.

its not ridiculously generous.. 150 pulls for a guaranteed with multiple banners every 15 days? sure they give a ton of free pulls, but it aint enough.. compare that to any other gacha where the BANNER char releases and you atleast have enough pulls to get that BANNER char.. in HBR you will be saving, saving, and saving all your pulls until the LIMITED angel beats collabs, unison, etc SPECIAL LIMITED BANNERS releases so you can guarantee them.. but.. HBR is a pretty good game i agree with that.. but they are NOT GENEROUS ENOUGH..

good VN RPG game. But bad gacha game. If you played JP, there's so much xtal drought 😂. The Global is just generous "right now" to catch up. You can clear the story with the free units but if you're minmaxxing, tough luck on the gacha.
