I was with the opposite crowd on the buzz cut. It is what attracted me to your channel. I'm a cancer patient, and I thought, "Here's a hair channel for me." I didn't want to use color on my "buzz cut" because of the fragility of my hair, but I did enjoy seeing you do it. I've enjoyed your pixie cut and wigs. I wear wigs a lot, and a lot of them are pixies. All in all, I've really been enjoying watching you be creative.

I was so sad for you when you spoke about your buzzcut and losing so much progress of your channel. For me, at the time I got so excited for you I found myself even more interested in what you were going to do next. I felt the inspiration you had from it and enjoyed every minute with you! The bottom line is some people are pretty shallow and crap and it's their loss!

When Stella shaved her head, I was delighted with how beautiful she looked with this hairstyle! And then I was shocked at the reaction it caused in people. People are unable to see beauty because they think in stereotypes. I'm sorry that Stella's career has suffered because of this.

I haven't finished the video and I'm immediately subscribing because of #3. It's ridiculous how people can shut someone down over something so trivial. You were truly enjoying something. It was a new experience for you and part of your life journey. No one has the right to make you feel regret over that. I understand that your imagine is tied to your success and with a buzz cut, hair transformations are limited but the community doesn't need to be toxic about it. I'm considering buzzing my hair when I decide to grow out my large undercut (either that or a very short cut) and you are my inspiration. You are a beautiful and strong individual. Keep shining boo💜

I don’t think they got angry, I think they lost their connection to her, I also followed her bc she had almost the same hair length as me and I was like „Nice she inspires me to do smth with my hair “ when she shaved her hair off, her videos just didn’t interest me anymore. Not bc I got angry she did smth out of the norm 😄just bc she didn't inspire me anymore 😅. (but I never unfollowed and I also liked every video, even when it wasn't smth I usually would watch)😊

Why is it that we are making it about “a woman does something outside of the norm” when it had nothing to do with Stella being a woman or doing something outside of the norm. She built her following the same way many others have in the “hair dye asmr” niche. The overwhelming majority of us subscribed to Stella because we could reliably count on her trying new color combinations and non-drastic haircuts/style changes. When she announced that she was going to go shorter and shorted until ultimate shaving her head, she began losing followers rapidly as she cut off length because with each cut there were less and less subscribers that could relate to the length. The overwhelming majority stayed silent, and many commented praise and support in every single video! YES, there were SOME people who left rude comments, not because a woman was shaving her head but because they spent years connecting with her through her hair. You are welcome to call it unhealthy or weird or whatever, but humans have and will always connect with people who they feel share similarities with. For Stella, that was largely people with hair who enjoyed dying and styling it frequently. I’ve always been a fan of Stella and I’m very sad that she lost so many subscribers and years of work.

Hair hack for a gel look: If you want to give yourself a gel look for a photoshoot (not to go to an event), instead of hair gel use a hair mask. It will give the same visual effect while nurturing your hair. Once the photoshoot is done you can simply wash it off your hair like you would do with any mask and the hair will feel even better than before.

I love the faded out red on top and silver/grey ends. Can imagine the result was a bummer. The rather dark result wasn’t bad but still, your imagined outcome did sound more interesting. But when you cut of those ends?? That hair just got a really concentrated looking healthier boost! Fun fact upon hearing you black eye story: I once inadvertently cut an apple in half by catching said apple with my eye. Yes, painful, my eye itself was all colors for months starting with deep purple and fading out to the mucky yellows and greens… not a fun way to start at a new school, may I add. Happened a few weeks before the new school year but the school picture were still just 1 white eye and 1 with several color bursts or how should I call it. Luckily my pupil wasn’t really affected and once my eye was recovered enough to endure the light and such, my vision was great enough. Weirdly though, the skin around that eye wasn’t really colored as with a typical black eye. It was a rather small apple and apparently fit my eye perfectly 😂 That hard hair episode sounds like traumatizing enough to never use styling gels again 😅😂 I have had my wet-look period as well but was only interested in the sorta wavy wet locks of a bit longer hair. Luckily never had this happen. Sounds very frustrating to have the experience of finding the shaved coloring period as the most creative hair style period in your life but having to avoid doing so again because it affects your income that much. Not really the type of difference you can solve with a second channel. I must admit, I might have lost interest watching those videos if I am more interested in longer hair for myself than having it short but that would result in lesser views only, wouldn’t unsubscribe for it. Not that my actions matter in the slightest but just watched to share the insight that, at least for me, it is a huge differ whether you see people working with ultra short hair like less than a pixie cut vs. all other lengths of hair. But all the experiments, changes and creativity is awesome regardless of whether I catch the video or not. I yearned for all these products before they became (readily) available (enough). Awesome to see all the possibilities ❤ Never really been a fan of split dye up until very, very recently. One of yours was the first video that showed me it could have some potential though, though I forgot which one. But an asymmetric split dye might still be interesting enough 1 day, since that gives a lot of different color styles whether you go for right-, left or middle parting. Or maybe that is giving away how lazy I am with my personal (non-existing) hair styling maintenance 😂😂

I agree about the split dye. I had that at 3 different points in my life in the past, half dyed black, half bleached light blonde, in a long style. The maintenance was definitely a headache. Because random strands would always sneak over to the blonde side and vice versa, making the root touch up really annoying. Also, try not to get black permanent box dye to bleed over into a blue/gray mess on freshly bleached hair... I also felt stuck with always having a perfect middle parting to keep the hairstyle looking nice and crisp. When I was tired of it I just dyed the blonde side black though, as fully black hair was my default back then when I was a goth. Although I don't regret having done the split dye. It was a very fun style to have, and not difficult to "reverse" when you keep one side just light blonde. It's actually one of my favorite color styles. That said, my one actual regret hair color was platinum blonde, on my whole head. Because I had my hair in layers upon layers of black box dye (my natural color is quite dark brown too) and I was way too stubborn for my own good, I ended up completely ruining my hair trying to get it light blonde when it just refused to get any lighter than bright orange, so eventually (after 12 rounds of bleach) I had to cut it all off. My hair sadly never truly recovered, despite fully regrowing it twice since, which was 9 years ago. It doesn't grow out nearly as thick anymore. That's probably for completely unrelated reasons, but I still can't help but regretting losing 3-4 years worth of hair growth, and that luscious thickness I had, over a stupid whim to get white hair. So I definitely regret that. I should have just settled for a darker, silvery gray when I realized the orange wasn't coming out.

I think advertising psychic platforms can be harmful. People, if you need help or guidence, talk to professional psychotherapists, not people who claim to do magic or fortune-telling. This can do more harm than good.
@afroborilafemme
@afroborilafemme Жыл бұрын
I think it’s harmful to judge people for their beliefs. Just like different religious beliefs, people have different spiritual beliefs as well. And for some, psychic readings can be spiritual or cultural. Yes, there are charlatans and con artists in this practice (just like there are in religions as well), but it’s up to everyone to do their own due diligence, as in all things. If you have knowledge that this particular company has practiced bad business habits, it would be more helpful to share that information, rather than just a blanket “stay away from psychics” type statement.

Psychic is an umbrella industry term that doesn’t always mean someone is claiming to do magic or tell someone’s fortune. Yes, it has bad connotations because of businesses that have taken advantage of people, but your comment only focuses on the negative while making it clear that’s the only side of it with which you’re vaguely familiar. So to say a blanket “this is harmful” because you don’t believe in it, is unfair to people who do. There are con artists in every type of business, including psychotherapy. That’s why I advocate due diligence instead of a blanket no. If anyone is interested or has a cultural or spiritual connection to any of the services that is tied to any of the aspects that falls under the psychic umbrella, winning a free service is the perfect way to test the waters.

Your buzzcut looks amazing...honestly, it looked amazing from what I've seen in the pictures ---complete and pure creative genuis !! all the ways you painted it etc--- truly epric and my favorite hair I've ever seen on someone else in my life as of right now----at the same time, my first emotional reaction /thought that ran through my head when I saw a picture of you with a shaved head was "omg maybe I shouldn't follow her hair advice by using the dyes that she did because I don't want to have to shave my head"...still I continued watching because your looks and colors are the most beautiful I've ever seen and the title of your video is 5 colors you regret---which is perfect bc I want to know if I will regret dying my hair bright pinky/purply/red ...which is what I want to do right now and am scared bc I don't want to lose my long/mid length blonde curls /want them back in a month and my success will depend on how I look in a month or 2 when I graduate and start applying for jobs...I think seeing the shaved head look at first is just triggering of our deepest fear---bc it hits it directly---which is t if we do or change anything to our hair---that we will loose it and not get it back---its amazing to see someone boldly and bravely try these amazing looks many of us want and are afraid of because of the repercussions....At the same time---so long as you make videos like this where you explain and express what you loved about a look and what you regret ---than your content is invaluable!!! and you should get more followers from that honesty because you're boldly paving the way and it enhances your brand reliability and honesty and it gives you integrity ---which is something we don't know if someone has unless or until they make a mistake and then hold themselves accountable for revealing it and being honest about that ---tylonal for example is a world infamous brand that accidentally killed a bunch of people because they found poison in some batch they manufactured...they paid millions of dollars to recall all the tylanol in the world and then make new tylanol with safer bottles and with higher standards to ensure nothing like that would ever happen again and sure it took a hit upfront to correct for that and people questioned it ---but now its the most trusted drug name and brand because they messed up publically big time and made a much bigger scene out of all of it to correct it publically and establish trust and credibility with the brand and they were rewarded for it and everyone trusts tylanol over anything else now... ----telling others what you learnt from your experiences so we can apply those lessons and not learn the hardway ourselves....when I was 12 I dyed my hair black because I hit puberty and my hair texture went from mostly straight with curly tips to being kinky curly and at first I still brushed it straight because I didn't know any better or why my hair was changing and had big poofy not pretty hair....so I dyded it black to make it look smaller and I looked terrible and like a witch... I tried to bleach it and it turned orange and I ended up having to cut it all off and have a pixie cut....funny when my hair was short I begun to see and understand that puberty was changing my hair and it grew in/back with the most beautiful little curly blonde ringlets and I kept the front pieces long and had this beautiful punky look that people of all ages would stop me and say I love your hair and I got voted best hair in my 8th grade year book....going from my sisters making fun of me calling me ugly poof head to that was a slap in the face to them for their bullying and a lift to my sel esteem I really needed... I actually had dyed my hair pink back then in in high school to but have been blonde since and am scared to go back pink ---before it was a cotton candy pink and everyone loved it---this was late 90s to early 2000s...but I want to dye it dark bright pinky purply red now and am about to graduate my PhD and am scared of any consequences so am watching this videos now bc I learnt the hardway once and don't want to again...so just saying you will loose followers that were not your people/ kindred spirit/crowd from your "mistakes" that are all really just lessons ---but you will gain a loyal following that see you and resonate with you and are definitely your people ---youll gain more and more of the right people and audience overtime and start growing exponentially in the right gengre ----before you probably had random followers from all different kinds of people ----these things direct you and make you easier to find by the people and audience you'd actually want and that would totally love you ----the 25% of the population that will love you and be your die hard fans....and you'll lose the random people that weren't your people ----dont worry about them with time you'll gain far more followers than you ever lost and those are the ones that will be the most valuable and send your videos to all their friends etc ---its like dating you have to date a lot of people to figure out who you like and what you're like in a relationship to evolve your interest needs what you can give and what you want to receive etc ---learn a lot before you get married and find your person and actually have the maturity and self awareness to know that person is even right for you

I think the main issue with her buzzcut was losing her followers and engagement as it majorly affects the algorithm. The less engagement you have the less your content is pushed out, less views, which then impacts your income. And she had spent years building a successful channel for it to be taken away so quickly. This is her passion as well as her job and I think a lot of us would be heartbroken if we had worked so hard for something only for it to be dumped on because of a decision we made, that we were so positive about ourselves. So, on a personal level, I bet she doesn't regret it because she loved it but on a professional level, it seems to have tanked and I can see why it made the list. I really feel for her because I was so excited by her excitement about her shaved head! I think she's amazing 🥰

Cutting hair is always bad for views. When Penny on Big Bang Theory cut her hair, ratings tanked. Same with Felicity when she cut of all her curls and Dharma and Greg’s ratings dropped so low the show got cancelled. Idk why but that seems to be the pattern.

I was never angry about you shaving your head, rather it looked really nice and I liked seeing the end results you came up with in terms of patterns/designs, but because it’s not something I’d personally desire, I noticed a decline in my need to watch the shorter hair/buzzed videos. Almost like because it didn’t apply to me and the style I was going for, it didn’t make sense for me to watch a video with information or care on how to keep it. I do think it’s ridiculous so many people were angered over this though!? Like why unsubscribe! I knew I’d probably have more interest again once you’re hair was longer again, so I stuck around, but overall it genuinely sucks some took it personally when it’s your hair and you can do whatever you want.

I don't know if you lost followers because people didn't like you with a shaved head, I think it was the content changed. I loved watching hairstyle videos that you did, and you can't really style a shaved head. Even if you have a short bob you could do fun styling videos that people with long hair could tweak to work for them. I think you looked beautiful with a shaved head, but I didn't see much use in watching videos of you painting it, or doing a very short pixie style.

What the video title said it would be: haircolors stella regrets What the video actually was about: #5 i wanted lighter hair but ended up with darker hair (feels like it wasn’t about the actual color just that you wanted it lighter at this particular time), #4 i used 3 different gels and they were a pain to get out, #3 my buzzcut ruined my career #2 split dye is hard and i refuse to work with what i have and didn’t plan it beforehand (if you want split dye for a while even while constantly changing the color it’s super easy to maintain) #1 box dye and i didn’t plan beforehand and it was hard to remove. Almost none of them are about the haircolor but about choices you’ve made and regret.

Eh people suck sometimes and unfortunately need to relate to everyone in order to like them. I have had a million styles over the years and now I have locs and yes I follow people who have hair like mine but also just enjoy the content for what it is for the artistry. It’s just hair and it can grow back. Let’s be real, the way she sacrificed her hair for her platform we can probably count how many people actually tried it themselves… buzz cuts were popular at one point and I think she literally made herself relatable to all walks of life in some capacity over her career so the rudeness over her choices are literally unnecessary and the oh it made her less relatable comment is just a cop out and a sign to look inward

For the ones saying that it’s crazy that people got mad about the buzz cut - I don‘t think people were actually mad about stella having a new style. But Stella used to be experimental queen of hair color that people could relate to. As not many people how buzzcuts and the paintings are also not for everyone, I think people simply lost interest. I know people that are former psychics and I myself went to a psychic after my ex boyfriend died. We all learned the hard way you cannot communicate with the dead…but there are familiar spirits that will pretend to be people that have died. (They are unclean spirits aka demons) I also used to do tarot cards as well. And that is called divination and it is against God’s spiritual and moral law. It isn’t even true but when you come into agreement with it demons can try to make it happen. (That is why it isn’t always correct. And it is actually witchcraft and puts a curse on the person doing it and the person getting the reading) There are spiritual and moral laws and a lot of people have been learning the truth the hard way. My best friend is a former witch and I know people from all kinds of former beliefs. There has been a major spiritual awakening going on for the past 10+ years. You can look up New Age to Jesus if you are curious and you can even search Jesus testimony and find people from all kinds of former beliefs. I like to use His Hebrew name Yeshua. It means God is Salvation. I used to suffer with anxiety, depression and ptsd but God has completely healed me and delivered me. I was tormented for over 3 years due to delving in these practices (trying to communicate with the dead and trying to seek “spirit guides” and to become enlightened into my highest self yada yada…to see in the spirit realm and hear in the spirit realm) If you really want to know the truth seek God with all of your heart and He promises to reveal and manifest himself to you. Reading the bible outloud helped me alot during major demonic attacks and spiritual warfare. It is the sword of the spirit and instructions for how we should live. It also has hundreds of prophecies that have been fulfilled and lots of historical stories and events that have happened. I learned the hard way that Jesus is Lord and demons are unfortunately very real and I was almost destroyed for my ignorance of God’s will and His word and the truth about the spirit realm and the legalities of it. I had to have a lot of demons actually cast out of me…Biblical counseling helped me more than anything. And just spending a lot of time alone seeking God and really getting to know Him tangibly and interactively. He can give you so much peace and joy and you can experience a love you have never known before. It is absolutely beautiful. God loves you so much! And He can give you spiritual gifts from the Holy Spirit and give you vision and dreams of things that are to come or warnings about things you can pray about to prevent certain things from happening. Gifts of healing, the discernment of spirits, prophecy among many others…There are a lot of deceptions in this world and things that seem good when they are in fact evil and the wrong path to go down. Ask God to forgive you of your sins and if you truly believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and He died for your sins and resurrected three days later you will be saved. Life is truly all about Loving God with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength and loving your neighbor as yourself. Doing everything in love and treating people the way you would like to be treated. Forgiving all those that hurt you. Bless those that curse you. Love your enemies and pray for those that have hurt you. It is so freeing. We live in a fallen world and this world is temporary but we are spiritual beings. We have a soul and a spirit and there is so much more to our existence then what we experience on this earth. Focusing on the eternal and being spiritually minded and not carnally minded bring life and peace. Much Love and God Bless You All! Btw Stella I loved the buzzcut and have been wanting to try it for years. For now I am having fun bleaching it and coloring it various colors but I want to start fresh and just buzz it all off! I haven’t had my natural hair color in a very long time. May Adonai Bless You and Grant you Shalom! The scriptures of Judaism and Christianity are the only “religious texts” in the whole world that line up with history and science…plus the big bang theory of how the universe was first created. God speaking things into existence 😊 www.reasons.org Edit: There is a spirit of divination (aka unclean spirit or demon) that can sometimes know correct information and that spirit can get passed down generationally if there is a legal right for it to enter.) It is a demon not a gift from God. But there is an example in scripture about how a woman with a spirit of divination was following around Paul and saying things that were true but they cast the demon out of her. “It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling. Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, “These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.” She continued doing this for many days. But Paul was greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment. But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the market place before the authorities, and when they had brought them to the chief magistrates, they said, “These men are throwing our city into confusion, being Jews, and are proclaiming customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.”” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭16‬:‭16‬-‭21‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

It totally sucks that people were so polarized by your buzz cut. I LOVED your creativity during that time. (The Hungarian flowers 👩🏾‍🍳🤏🏾💋😚) I honestly think it’s ridiculous to think “welI don’t have a buzz cut so this content won’t entertain or doesn’t interest me”. I am personally not interested in dying my hair (it’s very dark, 3c/4a, very fine, and thinning as I’m getting older - bleach is a no for me), but I love watching you because you’re so entertaining and always so positive. Your videos ALWAYS put a smile on my face and I don’t think I’ve missed a single one since I began following (including the interviews, those were so interesting to me). It just sucks that when KZbin is your job, the platform (and most of the audience) pigeonholes creators to stay in the same lane and do the same thing, but bigger, and bolder, without any deviation or else your channel gets tanked. It sucks the life out of creatives that are ever growing and evolving. Years ago, this used to be a place where you could just do what you loved. I miss those days.
