EVs make up 9% of new car sales in the US. They sell... they are just expensive and affordability is a huge issue (much like how frigging expensive new trucks are). i.e "August 2024 The average ATP for an EV was $56,575, while the average ATP for a gas-powered vehicle was $47,870"

The ev market doesn't hold up to its claims, via range towing capacity, not to mention all the recalls
@lego4virgo2 ай бұрын
@@briandonald It's not that the majority of American consumers don't want EVs, it's that they suffer from 'range anxiety' - "Will this vehicle strand me?" "Can I get it charged it a nominal amount of time?" EVs have some more tech hurdles to overcome, but once you have a good nationwide charging infrastructure in place, and the costs of EVs drops a bit (there have been price cuts on many EVs), more people will turn to having at least one EV in their garage next to an ICE vehicle. The reality is that the average range of certain EVs is pretty much what most people drive on the daily, or less. The only problem is with those who are apartment dwellers or live in townhome developments--it would be near impossible for them to get an adequate charging setup, unless their homes had outside electrical plugs, but then who wants to navigate a whole bunch of electric cords across a sidewalk. I think incentive vs mandate, would be the way to go here.

Couple that with a STUPID business plan, and a really awful economy with major inflation issues, it’s clear that Stellantis has no idea what it’s doing. I say bring it on. Best thing that could happen is this massive failure of Stellantis in North America. The more pain and suffering, the more likely they are to sell off the brands, or just break up the monopoly. Frank said in his letter to Stellantis that he wants to bring back the brands' American heritage, reinvigorate design, and make them more affordable. Stellantis doesn't and never cared about us or their brands, and now they show their hand by killing off the Challenger model, axing every ICE powered charger to immediately be replaced with EVs and eventually one inline 6 model, and all while keeping the Durango alive one more year only to drag it through the mud of corporate greed, make it's Last Call AlcHEMI trim $100,000 with little to no customization, and then kill it to also make it come back as an EV. I’m looking right now for 24 well optioned Durango R/T. Best I could find for Sticker MSRP of $67, $68K is about $54, $55K w about 1k dealer manager miles on vehicle. So, do u think w this news I should wait and see how things shake out for better discounts, end of October or?

Im waiting for big price cuts on Hellcats that have been sitting since last year. However, more than a few dealers have priced the things as if they were made of gold

If dealers still want to screw people, what good will it do?

just one little thing whenever a KZbinr begins his video, begging for clicks and subscribers, I don’t know anybody that gives them a thumbs up, or subscribes to that begging. it’s like asking someone for a thumbs up, positive review of a test car they haven’t driven yet, or asking someone for a thumbs up, and a positive review of a movie they have not seen yet.. It’s just a bad look…

I wanted a 2023 Challenger Scat Pack, was going to order my only new car and every dealer was horrible, when it came to close a deal the price was different.

Just traded my 2018 Tradesman Ram 5.7 for a 2025 3.0 SST. Bighorn MSRP went from 63K 248k

If this means RAM trucks will suddenly become affordable for a time, *I'm all for it!* The only question is if that will also affect second hand value of earlier model years too. I hope so, because I want a RAM and I want it as cheap as possible 😂

Interest rates will never come down low enough in order to waste money on a below subpar product that Stellantis sells.

There’s literally no reason to buy a stellantis product when their competitors have better reliability, design, and innovation.

The average consumer in America doesn't want to buy a $80K half-ton pickup truck? Whaaaaaaaaat? That's shocking!

Greedy ass dodge. Whatever they call themselves these days. Junk over priced stale cars.

Let's be honest..Carlos is a fall guy so let's not just put this on him alone. Tim Kuniskis should be under charges, lying to stockholders...FYI their sales were never that high, that's why board members are suing for Tim working with dealers to overstate units sold. This is why they are where they are.

I know the cars are new but they have been at the lots for year and more. The can be good for an engine with no lubricants and moisture trapped inside. In next two quarters there will be drama, there is no way out for them. The only way to get out of this hole is to make it right for the customer and dealers, which means give up a lot of revenue. Stellantis won’t do that, it is not in their company culture.

that brand new 2 year old car/truck becomes a used 2 year old car/truck the second you drive it off the lot. the incentives better be huge because the depreciation will be.

I've owned 2 Jeeps in the past and I loved them but, Stinklantis could not give me a Jeep today because I wouldn't be caught driving a Greed Mobile.

60k plus 50k plus for scat packs/RT’s 45k, He’ll Cats 80-90k. Now they want to cut prices on lot rot vehicles 😭😭.

Problem so easy to solve. Cut MSRP by 38%, give 10 year warranty on the junk they are building and offer no more than 2.9 financing for qualified buyers

1/2 price off would be an OK incentive

Sounds like Stellantis is going the route of Rambler. It's happens in the history of the auto industry.

I imagine they won't be selling too many $60,000 electric Chargers. Who can afford that? Ridiculous!!.
@garrettsmith26542 ай бұрын
Will Stellantis do all of these things? I don't trust them. They may say one thing, then they'll do the exact opposite. They can say "We'll lower the prices on these vehicles for the consumers to buy. And we'll raise the incentives." But will Stellantis actually do that?
@davidgolf32452 ай бұрын
I will believe the discounts when I see them on the vehicles. Until then what they are saying is total BS. I'd buy one if the price is right, which may or may not happen.

Im in the market for a new gladiator. You would be surprised by how many dealerships are still selling them at full msrp despite jeep offering 10% discounts on them. Boggles the mind really. I know of several 2023 models still sitting on lots for nearly 2 full years that are still full price.

I bought a diesel Galdiator because that is what I wanted. Now they discontiued it. My diesel is getting 26 mpg so the is very close to what it costs to drive an ev hybrid without hte battery liability.
@johanstjern41182 ай бұрын
When he claimed they have 10% profitability on their cars the reporters need to call him on this outright lie. They are bleeding cash for years after huge investments into factories and EV research, anyone who can read their financials can see they are not making money at all.

They could shift that backlog of stock in months if they offered them on 3 year leases at 1%/month of MRSP. That would boost new registrations, bring the vehicles on the road and provide the dealers with attractive used stock 3 years down the line. A 1% lease makes the vehicles more attractive than used cars and bring loads of new customers to the dealerships. They can do it in Europe so why not in the US?
