Lord help us go back t owhen it was about Your Presence and not about Performance and big titles and names.And next year, please the authors of these Gospel Shows should remember the Reason for Christianity is Salvation through Christ. Let us remember to keep Jesus and Holiness the center of it all. If I was a non -beleiver coming to this event, I would say, a lot of jumping and clapping but I wouldnt feel or know WHO this is all about or for. The singers did a great job in their live performances, and it was nice to see some of the more prominent nominees and previous winners actually in the audience, since this was "only" the pre-show. As for the comments regarding dress, this IS a gospel music awards show. You wouldn't think you should have to tell grown, so-called saints how to adorn themselves, but unfortunately, in this day and age it wouldn't hurt to have some kind of dress code expectation for anyone presenting or performing, just as there would be on most any job. Just because your name rhymes with sexy doesn't mean you have to prove it by showing off your boobs and butt for every any man present or on the net to drool over. No one is suggesting she should dress like a nun. Yolanda Adams, Cece Winans, and many other attractive female gospel artists manage to dress in both relevant fashion and relative modesty. Let's level up, my sisters! God and the world are watching.

don cooper I guess Adam and Eve were in the lowest form of holiness naked in the garden.... Muslim mothers covered to the tee bombing everyone and their children. She can dress better but Holiness has nothing to do with clothing. There are African tribes who live naked and when the gospel got them the received and continued to live in their culture. If the Holy Spirit lives in you, then you are declared Holy.

Reading the discussions, mostly what I was feeling has been stated. I am really saddened about the state of some of our christian singers, they have gone too far into the world and do not realize it. We have some of the prettiest clothes available to us without looking sluttish. I like power in the song that makes me feel closer to God. I could not appreciate the show.

Public, public, public, this is a live-streaming PRE-show, and to the uninitiated, they're not the main meal of any award presentation. Grammy's, Oscar's any pre-award ceremony is just janky to ANY outsider. It's not " designed" with digitally or visually digestible bits. It's the warm-up, clunky prologue to the good-good that's sure to satisfy. Both Lexi and the former pastor were professional and pleasant to watch. LEXI all day.

I don't think anyone is saying Lexi isn't beautiful. Her dress is just totally INAPPROPRIATE for this awards show and poorly represents her status as a minister of song. If this were the Grammys and her name was Beyonce, the dress would be still immodest but way more acceptable, given that Beyonce has no claim in Christian ministry to my knowledge.

Unfortunately, I agree with much of what has been said. It appears to be a lot of flesh on parade , not honoring those who are supposed to be representing Christ to the world. Why, should they want what “ the church “ has if there is not a difference? We are mandated by God to be Holy for He is holy , mandated to be separate from the world. I understand trends and Fashion has changed but He hasn’t changed and still expects that those of us who name His name and claim to be His to honor His word and honor Him , in the way we dress and live. Our words can’t sing of Him yet our manner of dress and behavior speaks of the club or secular world/ music. I remember when the church was up in arms over Mattie Moss Clark doing the little two step with her daughters at a stellar awards ceremony. There was nothing wrong with their movements, if they saw how the gospel artists dress today. Lol 😂 On a serious note though we need to truly represent our God a bit better. Breast, leg and thigh belong at Popeyes or KFC not within our celebrations which although are musical they are still supposed to be Holy.
