Stellar Blade is a 10/10

Stellar Blade OST that I've heard so far, about 20 hours into the story, is truly one of the best soundtracks I've heard this year, and is an easy 10/10 for me. I love every track.

The soundtrack is incredibly strong and varied. You’ll walk into a new area or interact with an item that brings up a new menu? It’s an acoustic dopamine hit around every turn. It even extends to the damn sound effects. The sound that plays when you find a can? The satisfying CRACK of a perfect parry, the bass heavy sound for a perfect dodge?

there really is a lot more to this game than the appearance of eve. unfortunately people will blindly hate it because of eve’s appearance, but it won’t affect the quality of this game. it has one of my favorite osts of all time and some of the most fun gameplay i’ve seen. they really did something special.

Approximately 40% of the songs in Stellar Blade were (CORRECTION - NOT)composed by Keiichi Okabe, the composer of NieR, so that’s why you’re hearing that. It’s sooooooo goood. (Update: I got the correction. I had read info that wasn't correct originally and am thankful for the education!)

It’s intentional, they admitted to being heavily inspired and appreciative of Nier: Automata. 40% is by composers from Studio Monaco (Keiichi himself didn’t work on any compositions) But the impressive part is that 60% is ShiftUp’s own composers.

I'm not surprised that Shift Up cooked a banger soundtrack for Stellar Blade, because NIKKE also has tons of banger music and quite diverse in genres as well. Even when they drop an event that is more laid back and slice of life, it still has its own theme song. And don't get me started on events that are huge lore reveals.

Stellar Blade is an entirely different experience with good headphones. My favorite track is the Flooded Commercial Sector song. I'll sit in a spot and watch the statue naytiba walk back and forth and take in the song with the environment

I sat at a camp last night with the music playing and just left the game running for half an hour while reading a book for a bit. It’s SO good and I hope to god they release the full OST on vinyl at some point. That bad boys going right into my collection if so. Looking forward to the breakdowns at a later date. I don’t know any Korean but I think they’re using “chaos language” again for this OST in parts? Any Kpop fans out there who know of Korean artists who have a similar vibe to some of these tracks drop me some names, I need more of this.

I loved the music in this. My favorite track was the boss fight with (Spoiler) towards the end of the game. It really seems reflective of the deteriorating mental state of the character and is so interesting.

I love the Stellar Blade so much. I immediately began New Game Plus after my first playthrough. The story, aesthetics, and the combat are all amazing. But what has given me the long lasting positive impression of Stellar Blade is it's soundtrack! I've been listening to it nonstop all day. Well there were an uncountable number of incels following the game in the pre-release because they kept touting the sexy aspects of it as an example of how a game should be “anti-woke” and all that crap (particularly in response to the relative unsexiness of modern western AAA characters). But I’m not gonna call those people real “fans” of the game.

Keep in mind both of those camps are absolutely freaking ridiculous. As much as I think the people who hate the game because of EVE can go punch themselves in the stomach, I also sigh heavily when I see fans drool over her as heavily as they do. To me Stellar Blade goes above and beyond the attractive character design. The game looks beautiful, plays amazing, the story is solid and I almost like it more than NieR though it is similar, the character customization is surprisingly complete, the music is perfection(release the full OST, I am no longer asking) and the content is insane. I haven't even reached NG+ and the game is still a relatively full experience but apparently NG+ offers a bunch more so I'm excited to play it more. It is also, from my experience, relatively bug-free and polished which should be the golden standard for AAA games. Not to mention, this is SHIFT UP's first AAA title... they made NIKKE then decided one banger wasn't enough. They be putting that gacha money to good use if I had to guess. I am also noticing a trend with SHIFT UP, their recent games get passed off as horny bait but then they end up being awesome regardless of that aspect. So I am trusting them to make some really good games in the future, lord knows we need more quality AAA.
