I wonder why the first boss glitches and stays petrified. Ist because of the effects of just unlocking training mode buff that doesn't recognize it as an enemy?

I think they force the training system's conditions unto the game (such as unlimited energy). In the beginning on Eidos 7, they enter training mode, and under some conditions or some way, entering/exiting at a specific moment (and/or holding certain buttons maybe?) and then the conditions are applied.
