What ever happens, what ever the outcome, mankind resolves to fight to the end. Even if we lose, we will die standing, proud that we gave our all for what we believed. Mankind Dies Fighting

Even though large tracts of the Galaxy and many old and famous Empires have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Aliens and all the odious apparatus of Alien rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight on Centaurus Prime, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our nation, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this planet or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our worlds beyond the stars, armed and guarded by the United Nations Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the Old World, our Homeworld, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the New.

@@Correon28 Mankind does not surrender, mankind does not run away and hide, mankind does not give up and die. Mankind fights to the bitter end, what ever the outcome and if we die today, we do so proud that we chose to die on our feet, rather than live on our knees. If this is to be our end, then we would make such an end as to be remembered forever.

@@raptornugget5385 "Inevitable fate" is repetitive, but most people would agree with the phrase "Don't accept inevitable fate" since fate usually means likely outcome, connotatively, rather than certain outcome. Of course, if you use fate definitively then the alternate advice would be to accept fate and learn to work with it rather than against it. Also, Dylan Thomas's quote is on a completely different spectrum to people who throw temper tantrums since its referencing when you are at your lowest. The poem from which it originates is to his father and how he wanted his father to struggle, to hold on to life instead of "[going gently] into that good night". It was about how dying men should not accept their fate; it was about how dying men should fight and be angry at Death for trying to take their life.

The humans I think, knew that they were doomed. But where another race would surrender to despair, the humans fought back with even greater strength. No one who saw them fighting against the inevitable, could help but be moved to tears by their courage. They would weep, they would pray, they would say goodbye to their loved ones and then they would throw themselves without fear or hesitation into the very face of death itself. They were magnificent They made the Mimbari *Fight* for every inch of space. In my life I have never seen anything like it. When they ran out of ships, they used guns. When they ran out of guns they used knives, sharp sticks or bare hands, but they *Never* ran out of courage. When it is my time, I can only hope that I may die with half as much dignity as I saw in their eyes at the end... Their stubborn nobility. They did this for two years, they never ran out of courage, but in the end, they ran out of time...

I called my version of the UNE the "Human Federation", a materialist citizen republic. Every time I come to the end crisis, sometimes I can't stop it. I watch this trailer, thinking about the glory and the sadness every human get at that moment, defending the last world of humankind, or running out to anywhere that isn't here for the last civilians who didn't join the army even if they did their military service. I think about the worlds humankind has conquered, the species it has integrated, the people humankind has killed to fight dictatorships and stellar despotic empires, to beat fanatic purifiers, the damage it caused. Was it right ? Was it the right thing to do ? Well, with these wars, my humankind saved many lives by increasing employments, the level of life, and happiness on the world it conquered, but it cost a lot of lives, on all sides. When I think about it, when all my 7 or 8 fleets like 120k power each are in Sol system, to defend the homeworld, when the rest of the galaxy is destroying the Unbidden portal, and I lose Earth as my last planet, the game tell me I lost. I'm thinking "we won, but our Humankind sacrificed itself for the rest of the galaxy could end the threat", and I'm proud of it. It's like I made the humans the heroes of the Milky Way, even if they killed a lot of people in name of equality and liberty, the price they paid for the rest of the galaxy was far greater than the price they made the rest of the galaxy to pay. And this moment will make them remember that even if humanity was united under a militaristic and kind of supremacist banner, the humans saved all sentient life. It's the best ending I get in a Stellaris game, the start of a new growing civilization, its golden era, and its collapse, its end. That's why I love this game and my 900 hours on it, thinking the humans will be remembered as the savers of the galaxy, and the human survivors of the Sacrifice will be seen like an ancient species, like the fallen empires. I'm damn proud of losing this kind of games like that and I don't regret it one second.

Erwin Smith : Does that mean life is meaningless? Was there even any meaning in our being born? Would you say that of our fallen comrades? Their lives Were they meaningless? No, they weren't! It's us who gives meaning to our comrade's lives! The brave fallen! The anguished fallen! The ones who will remember them are us, the living! We die trusting the living who follow to find meaning in our lives! That is the sole method in which we can rebel against this cruel world!

Primus Gagamort II was in the middle of his direct transmission with Prime Minister Su Yi of the Humanoid Interstellar Union. She was sad, sad that their closest friend was about to fall into history and eventually them. Primus Gagamort told her to not fret and that he had a plan. She was confused and then the transmission abruptly ended. Out of all the alien empires, the humans chose to befriend the Funagaians, despite their repugnant, fungoid appearance. They became the closest of friends. Both surviving the War In Heaven. They were brothers and sisters. They had taught each other much, but the humans gave them a gift; sacrifice. The word didn't exist in their vocabulary until their first diplomatic meeting 256 years ago. The word was synonymous with compassion. Primus Gagamort looked out the window to Cafroidam, the capital of their homeworld. There wasn't enough time to evacuate. His pre-recorded message played out across the planet. The humans had Piggy backed their signal and we're also listening. The Primus told them to rejoice, that their friends, their family, would live to prosper. He said comforting words as battleships, cruisers and Corvettes flung themselves at the Unbidden fleet, buying priceless time. Primus Gagamort pressed the button on the cart next to him, sending a signal to their sun's orbital research station. It slowly fell out of orbit and was on a collision course with their star. The station was filled with antimatter. Enough to obliterate everything within a five light year radius. The Primus said, "Sacrifice" in his own language one last time. The station collided. There was light and then, nothing.

As the last ships were falling into the doom, they fought, hell they fought, they screamed through their radios, threw themselves into certain death, I could not believe their courage, they did this, primal act, not for survival, not for glory or victory, they did this, for us, they held their ground against the inevitable, not for their own personal gain, and as the most powerful human ships fell, they showed no remorse, stubborn, accomplished, as they knew they bought enough time for us, our last ships left the solar system, at their command, seeing the remainings of their entire fleet falling to the horde, without that fleet, the entire UNE was doomed, but they didn't care, because they knew that we would live, a few days later, earth would be destroyed, but, we could counter-attack, and, we won... We can't tell them about this, now it's over and they would never know, I don't have enough words to say of how this shocked our nation, and most of all, how it shocked me, but the only thing that I must guarantee, to whatever they went, we will prosper, we will make them proud And we will never forget them. -last part of the galactic custodians "Blorgs" speech on the galactic community, after the defeat of the swallowing horde
