Just wanted to say that the diplomatic weight stats are better for seeing fleet power than the pathetic-overwhelming scale. You can get an exact number for how strong they are, and how strong you are in comparison

Yeah that's what I always do. You just have to be sure to look at the base stay and not the one with modifiers added.

@thrawn yes, I mainly use it early game to see how many corvettes the enemy has (one corvette with base components is 1 dw), but that is a good point

This only works up to about mid game against AI because after that you have no idea what their production capabilities are. Maybe you ARE twice as strong, but maybe they can rebuild that fleet within a year or two after you destroy it, over and over. I imagine that point comes much sooner with human players.

Mind Flayers are a Dungeons and Dragons creature. Basically aliens that eat brains, implant their larvae into other creatures to make more of themselves, and are powerful psionicists. Very Lovecraftian.

They are my favorite monster - and no I do not want humans or elves being psionics as well. The fact they are so ALIEN and way beyond simple understanding is what makes it cool they can just throw around anti-magic fields, their psionics cannot be blocked in return - they mind blast you into idiocy before eating your brains, etc.

@@kinagrill Illithid are quite understanble and "human" in their behaviour. I mean, they rulded an interplanar empire based on slavery, they have 2 arms legs and eyes (with a few little tentacles) Beyond their reproductive method and the hivemind thing, they are very similar to any other species in the D&D lore, they even have gods of their own (Illsensine). The Far Realms from where they come is really lovecraftian (unfathomable and all) but illithid looks more like humans having evolved there that a truly native species.

8:06 Regular pacifist can make claims on both Hiveminds and Machine Intelligence empires since the _"Impose Ideology"_ war goal doesn't work at with normal empires. Against Devouring Swarms, Determined Exterminators and other total war empires they still have the _"End Threat"_ Casus Belli.

I was playing around with the new features and maybe a find an original way to use the Overmind Origin, instead of some kind of parasitic infections, the Overmind can be something similar to the Combine, so we have telepathic leader who exploit local resources and population for their goals, whatever they are.

This looks really cool, The organic structures civic is one I really want to play with myself. I have some suggestions for mods for the future too: this is another Hive Mind mod! It adds less than forgotten Queens, but there are some cool concepts, and it changes a few minor mechanics of vanilla Hive minds. I’ve seen Aspec covering this mod, i really need to try it when i get my pc fixed this week (need a new cpu which I’m getting tomorrow, also new ssd). Might I suggest you look up another mod on steam, which i think will compliment this mod perfectly: the Animated Xenomorphs species pack, literally Xenomorph portraits (that are animated), they have their own civics, city set, ship set (looks really cool), animated xenomorph portraits, and several origins, each of which starting you off on a different homeworld type.

The movie scared me to death many years ago. I was sitting among friends who were both younger AND much more worldly in a theater near Chicago. Everyone liked me a lot so they insisted that I sit in the middle and hold the huge popcorn. The very FIRST jump scare in the movie, I whooped, and threw the popcorn, in it's entirety, straight up into the air, it rained down on the 5 of us and all the people around us, and the bucket wound up on one of my best friends' heads. Seeing the same idea as a mod for one of my favorite games is... enjoyable.
