Excellent, thank you. I'll be trying this out in the next couple of days. Oh yes .... the din rail from another video, is a great hack too!

Hi don , thank you for uploading this video, as a new user to Photoshop been struggling to get this done but will follow your version as it seems to be better at describing what needs to be done :) have managed to get an image into Stellarium but does not look quite right and I need to do the sky like yours :) hopefully I will have better luck than I have done so far 👍

Great info Don, thank you! I think the same process can be used for KStars, I’ll have to look at the stock landscape image to double check final size as I’m not sure if that is different from Stellarium.

Not familiar with KStars. Hope you can get it to work. Good luck.

You mention that for it to work in Stellarium it has to be 16:9 format, but you end up with 2:1, so what's the deal there ?

Hi Paul, Sorry for the late reply. I have been busy with life and I had to re-watch the video as it was two years since I made this one. You are correct. I'm not sure where I messed my figures up. Should have been 7680 x 4320. Interestingly enough I resized this image just prior to responding and it worked as well. Turns out that it doesn't really matter about the width as long as the compass points correspond to the image. Thank you for pointing this out. Hope you enjoyed the video anyhow. Cheers Don
