Thank you I just recently switched schools and everyone in my new school learnt about this but I didn’t cuz my old school didn’t taught me. This topic was coming in exams I just realised. I was panicking until my friend suggested me ur video. It helped me a lot and I m pretty sure I will slay this topic in my exam. Thanks 🎉

What if we have a 16,16 as my smallest number and 18,18 as my biggest number how can i find range
@themathscircle29952 жыл бұрын
Hello, apologies for the slow reply. The range is determined by finding the difference between the highest and lowest numbers. So in your case 18-16 = 2, the range is 2

How do you determine the key??
@themathscircle29952 жыл бұрын
It would be best to choose one of the numbers in your stem and leaf plot and use that as the example for your key
@youknowkbbaby4 ай бұрын
The problem is that some text books have stems of tens and hundreds places. The leaves are ones places. Also decimal numbers are included with whole numbers.
@themathscircle29954 ай бұрын
Yes, I agree. We just need to make sure we have a key that clearly shows what the stem and leaf plot represents.
@youknowkbbaby4 ай бұрын
@@themathscircle2995 thanks for pointing that out. I will make sure I am thoroughly checking the key from now on.

Why do we have to circle it instead of crossing it out
@themathscircle29952 жыл бұрын
The ones we circle 'pair' up together and then the ones we cross out 'pair' up together. Some students find that if they just cross the numbers out they forget where they were up to

can you make a key in any number??
@themathscircle29952 жыл бұрын
Hi Jomy, yes you can. For example if you are asked to plot 12.3 you would put your key as 12|3=12.3 or if you need to plot 2064, your key would be 206|4=2064
