I love watching you. One of my tutors once said that she hoped we appreciated the lengths she went to when teaching us, because she not only taught us the right way, but also went to great pains to teach us how not to do things. She then added that she expected each of us to remind her at later dates, about the mistakes she had made, so she didn't have to repeat them to other classes as well!! Thank you.

Very good and informative video. Thank you Barbara. Your videos are always very watchable. They say you learn more from your mistakes than your successes. I would agree because it teaches you how to fix things. So making the adjustments etc was helpful. Two additional things I am going to try is adding versamark to the reverse of the stencil to prevent it sticking too hard. I saw that on another video but haven't tried it yet. Secondly maybe re- attaching the backing paper to the back of the adhesive so that I can gradually place the artwork to the canvas a bit at a time by slowly peeling back the backing paper. I've not had much success placing the adhesive onto canvas or card and getting it straight!

Such a beautiful result. Wouldn`t it be easier to put the sticky part on the table and stick the canvas on it? Just a thought :) Thank you very much for sharing.
@silkeschumann72612 жыл бұрын
It is easier to position if you don't peel off the back carrier sheet but just fold back roughly a finger thick. This way can slide it in place just slightly lifting the sticky part. When have centered it or placed as you like it you stick down the edge and with a plastic card or ruler you can air bubble free rub the sheet onto the card. because there are sticky parts on top you might want to use a wax paper or release paper from a previous project on top when you use the plastic card to rub the sticker onto the card.
@craftycx71975 жыл бұрын
Lovely finished piece. So good to see how you fix mistakes as gave me a couple of thoughts - Think I'll try putting flakes on the sides of the canvas first then could use masking tape. Also if you used carrier paper to hold the work while peeling the stencil off, then your hand won't get stuck to it! x x
