Great series of tutorials! I had a few instances when solving Step 7 where after the sequence the last row of colors all match and it’s a matter turning the top row to its correct side without the need for step 8.

First off, I'd just like to thank you for these easy to follow videos. I am easily solving the Rubik's Cube through your steps now. My question is, how do I improve my speed now? Is there a way to combine steps? Is there shortcuts? These steps do make it easy to solve but there is a lot of turns. I'm trying to find out ways to improve my solve speed. Urgh done it some many time and it just always leaves 2 squares not matched up. Tried the diagonal switch but still doesn't work. All but 2 squares.

Double check the sides of the cube. Make sure all the steps are still solved.

Would it not solve if two middle piece "covers" have been switched over, but are still opposite the correct opposite colour? For example the yellow and white centre piece have switched over? Followed all the steps and have come out fine, just the last step in step 8 where we have two pieces never getting in their right place.

I found that your "stories" are instrumental in remembering the movements for steps. I found Step 7 difficult to remember, so I made up a story that corresponds to the moves for Step 7. Here goes: Starting on the rigjt side, of course... 1. You enter a diner and sit at the COUNTER. 2. You are expecting a friend, so you glance at the CLOCK. 3. A person enters, and sits at the COUNTER. 4. OMG! It's FLIP Wilson! 5. He is also expecting a friend, so he looks at the CLOCK. 7. Your friend arrives, and sits at the COUNTER. 8. A second arrival enters and sits at the COUNTER. 9. Your friend asks, is that FLIP Wilson? 10. The second arrival says, "Yes, that's my friend, FLIP." Done. Use this or edit/modify it if you like. If you have to red corners, spin the top to match the red side. If you have one red corner, ignore it. Find the side with two matching corners and put it in the back. If there are no matching corners, it doesn't matter what side goes to the back.
