@@bongobongo985they could have if not for him and his wife's spousal problems. Sasha was dropped from the show because she made domestic abuse allegations against him. While he was protecting his kids he was in the wrong, and put them in danger. As a consequence Cody was written out and replaced by three characters, only one of them stayed until the show's cancellation. Sasha however did return for a guest spot in the eighteenth episode of season seven. The allegations tarnished his reputation and career and he retired from acting.

@@Father_of_Death He hasn't retired from acting. Sasha Mitchell was cast in a movie titled _Anadellia Rises,_ released in 2018 and had been tabbed to appear in another _Kickboxer_ film, _The Kickboxer: Algiers,_ but that film became stuck in development hell once its co-writer and director Albert Pyun entered hospice care for Multiple Sclerosis. Mitchell completed filming on _Cyborg Nemesis: The Dark Rift,_ but that movie also went unreleased due to Pyun retiring from filmmaking due to dementia, leaving the editing process unfinished. Pyun died just last year.

@@Father_of_Death he's still acting but also has pursued other professions. He made clear what happened in the early 2000s & has gotten work since then, just not as high profile. He's done a good job raising his kids.

This show is almost 30 years old now. That blows my f'n mind. I close my eyes sometimes and it still feels like the early 90's. It feels like I "belong" back in this time period, but somehow I'm being "forced" to be here in shitty 2020 instead. Does anyone else feel this way? That we belong back in the early 90's and not here?

Yes - Ever since I had my first kid a couple years ago I’ve been incredibly nostalgic about the 90s and yearn for that time. It probably has more to do with being a kid then than it does with the actual time period I am starting to consider. Think about it: anyone over the age of 60 does not give a crap about the 90s. You know what I mean?

Cody was a paradox. He wasn't the typical shallow valley dude guy air head. He was actually very sweet and deep thinking without being deep thinking and he could deliver a line in the funniest way imaginable. He was the lovable and sometimes annoying guy you knew, the one who could annoy the hell out of you but you wouldn't trade him for anything in the world because in his own way, he made the world a better place. I've had friends like that and I treasure them and their memory and my memories with them.

He was a great part of the show, his absence ruined it. But there are two things I could never understand - he does not speak like a guy frow Wisconsin, he speaks like a youngster from Venice Beach, CA. The second thing is that he's virgin in the show and proud one. The sex as a topic is somehow presented as something bad when it comes to the teenagers from the show. No one from the kids of Frank or Carol has sex, no matter how many oppurtinities he/she has. It should not be that way at all.

@@mentzo1What's wrong with Cody being a virgin? I think we have plenty of characters who aren't. I like the fact that there are characters like Cody who is secure enough with himself that he doesn't have to give in to the pressures of society, pop culture, and the media. To me he's a good role model for those who suffer with insecurities as he makes it ok for people to be different and have choices without feeling ashamed for them, he never pushes his life style on others so why be bothered by it.

What a damn shame. and i don't know why that boy meets world is now being regarded as a great sitcom from this era of T.V..it's a good sitcom but nothing really special. and another sitcom from this decade that really deserves to be released in complete seasons is highly unsung hangin' with mr.cooper, which was on the same network and aired the same night as this sitcom.

He is just very special I don't think the writers thought he was dumb... The actor, in interview, either... But special with his brain🤔...IF they put some thoughts in the writing, creating characters.. then it's more like a neurodivergent type(ADHD type of guy?or a bigger disorder like Aspergers... I got ADHD with meds, and when I meet ADHD"brothers" in real life, they are a bit like Cody😂...acting different, BUT in the same way too😂. Or Kramer from Seinfeld haha ) I hope I'm not wrong and that the writers didn't just just LAUGH at him😢...that would be kinda insulting haha. Love to Codyyyy(we R on Valentine's day❤❤❤❤❤😅)

Feb 2022. Watching on IMDb TV. Cody made the show a hit. I liked the times when he showed maturity like the episode where he was going to marry a woman with a child. I also liked the relationship he had with Uncle Frank and how he would ask him for advice. There was a strong physical presence when they were in the same space because Patrick is tall too. Show was not as fun without Cody.

The ironic thing is just like urkel, Cody was only supposed to be one time character. In fact in his first episode he mentioned he was"staying for the weekend" a few episodes later they decided to bring him back for good as a regular and he saved the show. I feel like step by step wouldn't have lasted any longer if Cody hadn't been brought in. He wasn't in the last 2 seasons but by then the other characters had been well defined enough to keep the show going. For a few more years at least
