Great idea of using bungees on the top tray. My crate is set up similarly but without the bungees on the top and that haas been problematic. I almost lost a sweat shirt. I’m going to fix that now. Thanks!

They tend to be super handy. The only adjustment I would do is using bungee cord instead of smaller bungees. I think that would turn out better.

I’ll shop for the bungee cord. Thanks again for the terrific video.

Thanks! They are pretty simple. May build an upgraded box in the future.

Another good was to finish off the top is to add another bottom to make a lid rather than the bungee cords Also depends on your application Great informative video

Super cool build! I do see shock cord is much cheaper now on Amazon
@TheSpeedofTim2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that would definitely be better, imo. Plus shock cord has a lot of uses. I need to order some to have around as well.

Thanks for the video....any suggestions as far as attaching it to your yak....I know it depends on your exact kayak and how the stern is set up....thicker but bungees on each side to strap to the kayak maybe?
@TheSpeedofTim4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I have always used a couple of extra bungees, thread through the box and connect where you can. My newer kayak has the rear bungees and I'm able to hold down the crate pretty easily with those. The small bungees I used on the top in this video are handy to help hold it down as well.

If you want a cleaner and stronger application use a piano hinge!

Did you get the file for that knob online or design it yourself? I like that option better than the single bungee like most people do and I’d like to print me one off too.
@TheSpeedofTim2 жыл бұрын
Just printed one off on my 3d printer. There's a number of small knobs out there that'll work.

@@TheSpeedofTim thanks, I was having trouble locating a decent one on Thingiverse so I figured I’d ask. I ended up finding one a few minutes after my post that was rounded and had a center hole for easy fastening that I think will work. Great vid, I never would have thought about locking this way if I hadn’t seen this.

You can find them at sports academy, the container store, thrift stores and garage sales. Just have to hunt for them in your area. Best of luck!

Milk crate theft is a really big problem for dairies and stores in the US and costs the industry thousands of dollars every year. While the big boys might be able to suck up this kind of loss, it can have a very real impact on the smaller shops and dairies and it’s you, as the consumer, who will end up paying for it.
