Hi Peter, I just started at Centennial for Aircraft Maintenance and Management. Is it possible to start working during the summer or do I have to wait until I have graduated? Just want to get a head start. Thank you. Your videos are very informative and motivating.

hi regarding your question , yes it is possible. to tranfer your license but it all depend on the transport canada inspector . Firstly you’d have to contact transport Canada .They will let you know if you are qualified for the conversation based on your education background, hour and job experience. It is not a direct conversion. At the very lest you'll have to sit all the Canadian exams, standard practice, airframes, engines and CARS . You have to be able to prove 3 things to be accepted. For basic training, you need course certificates and the syllabus for whatever pre-apprenticeship course you did . They need to see you did 1000 hours of classroom time. On the job training and practical exercises don't count. You also need to provide proof of experience, showing time and skill. For skill, you need to show through logbooks or electronic records that you have completed a variety of tasks on aircraft. The time requirement is 48 months total experience, of which 6 has to be on civil aircraft and 12 is 'specialty', i.e MRO work. But its all up to TC how much of the time and experience you provide that they will actually recognize, it's all done on a case by case basis by their inspectors.

Hi Peter, I hope this message finds you well I have been meaning to ask if I would be able to get a job or my license in Canada if I learnt at Ethiopian Airlines Aviation University here in Ethiopia, I have 6 months work experience and my Airframe and Powerplant license as well as a Avionics license as well?!

@@lukezvakanaka8787 it’s possible to get a job and license. Firstly regarding the job , say since you have working experience and education , I’d say your best shot is to focus on applying for job at small mro company because they are most the only one that employee people outside Canada . Although you can’t use your license back home here . Secondly regarding if your are able to get your license, it possible to get your license, but the first step is to email transport Canada to see if they accept your education in Ethipoia. If they don’t you’d have to start over again from school . If they do they will tell you all the necessary step you’ve to take . Let me know if you find the answers helpful. Or we can schedule a call .

Hi Peter. 1. How do you get to be an apprentice after graduating from college? 2. Do you get paid during the 2 years & 6 months working as an apprentice? 3. Do you know any great schools in MANITOBA to study AME? Thanks for the highly educational videos.

1. To get a job after college , I alway recommend you applying for job at least 3 month before graduation and also instead of sending your resume online , dropping your resume in person is way better . 2. Yes you do get paid working as an apprentice. 3. Red river colllege is a good one .. this link also have all the school that offer the courses tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/licensing-aircraft-maintenance-engineers-ame/approved-training-organizations-atos-aircraft-maintenance-training/basic-training-approved-acceptable-training-organizations-currently-active
