As a smaller creator, I've been following your channel for awhile and I am digging the new format in this setup you got!

Really nice clean, tutorial, Cameron! And it's so nice to see you utilizing effects/plugins that have been around for a long time than grabbing the next new toy.

Thank you. I’m careful not to get wrapped up in the next new toy. I see too many other motion designers fall into this trap

Very nice! Without wanting to sound like I'm Monday morning quarterbacking, I would have included the glow at the tip of the cigarette and keyframed the smoke to match the glow's rise and fall in intensity, then dialled it down to fit in with the rest of the effects so it didn't stand out unduly. That said, it's a lovely piece of work, really creative with a keen eye for detail.

"keyframed the smoke to match the glow's rise and fall in intensity" - sounds interesting - what do you mean exactly?
@TrevorBaudach24 күн бұрын
@@generaljackson1741 As the glow brightens, the stream of smoke slows, then speeds up again as the glow dies back down.

This is what I love most about your work. Such simple layering, and it creates a ton of depth and texture! Would you have any ideas on animating some hair movement for the first image? Just a gentle wave to go with the particle movement. I was thinking, roto the character from the background and then maybe adding a bone system with Duik or something? Curious to see how you might approach that. Thanks for another great video!
@MotionScience22 күн бұрын
You could roto the hair and then use the puppet pin tool. I would try that before going into deep with Duik. Another option is to use AI.

A subtle depth map animation would have made this even better.
