SOC 2 isn't just for cloud hosted companies, no, but cloud hosted companies do see a great deal of benefit from pursuing SOC 2. Additionally, cloud hosted companies find it much easier to leverage compliance automation during the SOC 2 process. Companies that are not cloud hosted can still pursue a SOC 2 certification, no problem.
