Personally, I'm using Havoc OS 2.4 on my OP3 device and with its features and tweaks I think is the best rom so far. It fully supports black theme, dash charge and so many more. It's maybe the most complete rom along with Ressurection Remix.

@@RogueConstantine My main phone was 8.0.0 and second one was 9.x.x worked on both. But i want to use spoofing options, and in 9.x.x they dont work that well (gps jumping), so i unrooted my second phone and downgraded it to 8.0.0 and rooted it again

I would recommend using TWRP v3.2.3-0 or v3.2.3-10. The blu_spark TWRP is very old now & isn't maintained anymore.

I'm not sure I'd call myself a noob but the last phone I unlocked, flashed, rooted, was my Note 1😂. So I have a lot of catching up to do. 😅 My main worry is DM-Verity on Oreo/Pie? Should this be a worry for me? (This kind of thing wasn't around in my day. 😅 Makes me worry that it'll just kick in and break things months down the line.) So really it's my main question... My plan is to unlock my Op3 so I can root to get: Viper audio. Magisk (heard great things 😅 not used it yet). Security patches after OnePlus stop (hear magisk can do this🤯 with asop patches). That's a great start for me, (coming back after years😅). 😁 If it all goes well and I'm still having fun with it (as I used to 🥰), then I might start looking at replacing some thermal pads and overclocking/undervolting. 😂 Thanks in advance for any help and thanks again for reading. 😊 Have a brilliant day. Peace. ✌️ P.s. For any about to say overclocking a phone is stupid (your correct🤣), but... It has worked brilliantly for me on a HTC Desire (got that up to 1.8ghz😆, that little thing was a beast). My Note 1 didn't upclock as high, but the gpu and memory tweaks were enough to get it running "Note 2 software", smooth as butter (still works too😏). 😂 Understand, overclocking/under volting (both the same principle), should only really be done in phones for fun. Not practicality. Unless your mad like I used to be. 🤣

Advice : do a full backup of whatever not synch with google drive. My phone was apparently encrypted (what a fucking useless thing on a personal phone... sound like we are carrying military class documents...). In some way the update failed as it was run through TWRP at recovery and not official recovery. I noticed the error too late (linux terminal showed red lines saying storage not available...). Still Android is a fucking bad OS, why encrypting a phone ? Seriously ??? To protect some holiday photo from being stolen by a potentiel thief ??? Come on please !

This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab. "

Use the latest version of magisk v20.3 it disables dm Verity. If your device doesn’t boot to android (in a bootloop) you will need to use msndownloadtool version 9.0.6 to restore your device
