Exterior = Shoot high lvl animals and leave smaller animals. Main zones = stack diamonds = leave highest lvl animals and cull smaller lvls

Lady, another awesome instructional video! I love great ones! One thing, maybe some HM confusion comes from the term "Exterior" zones - it sounds like it means around the outside edge of the map, when they're actually just "Secondary" zones.

Something I never hear mentioned is that you can find your drink zones past the drink zone time. I believe the tracks for these zones last 2 hours (in game time) past when they leave the zone. If your looking for black bear like I am currently, you actually have between 20 and 2 to find zones instead of 20-00. Correct me if I'm wrong about the 2 hours. This is how long after I have found zones after the zone time but I could be wrong. Sometimes I find waiting for the animals to leave (or at least way late in the drink time) easier to find the zones. You don't have to worry about if the animal came yet and you don't have to worry about accidentally scaring them before they get there. Just circle the lake/river and look for tracks of the animal your looking for. One problem doing this is that if another animal drinks in the same spot after, it may cover the tracks of the animal your looking for.

I learn something new every time I view one of these herd management videos!! I've seen in my fallow grind that respawns from grind zones move to the external zones. I believe these are the fallows respawning from the solo zones. Have you seen this before? Do you simply go back and shoot down those updated external zones again? How often should you check those external zones?

Yes they do jump to exterior zones sometimes. I check my exteriors whenever I notice that I'm getting smaller respawns or notice that something is wrong. I shoot the bigger deer or moose or whatever species that is there and setup there. Often they won't respawn but I check and if they do respawn, I grind there until that zone is shot down again. If not, I pull my tent and tripod - problem solved!

tripods in my opinion are not really needed so much for the black bear. They are a predator, and when you kill them it kills the zone anyways!

Setting up a moose grind on MEDVED. I’m finding within zones there are solo bulls. For example, I find a zone with 5 moose total (2 males, 3 females) the herd indicator says it’s a solo male then a herd of 4 (1 bull 3 cows). What should I do about this? Do you set up and shoot based on the herd indicator or the zone?

I know you say not to shoot more than 2 at a time - is 2 a must? Can I shoot one at each zone? Obviously the grind would be slower but just wanting to make sure. Also, would you take the bucks, and then not come back to that same zone again until the hunting pressure had worn off? And one last question. Is there such thing as a map being “too far gone” to start a grind on? I’ve played a lot of multiplayer with my friends and most of my maps are COVERED in pressure and have been obliterated.

Only thing you didn't say but I'd like to know How far do you need to put your travel tend away from the shot zone so they spawn in (my guess would be abit over 150 meters and put the tripot at 150 m from the zone.) I'm asking specifically for that because I've heard, that animals don't spawn in around 200 to 300 meter when you travel to an outpost. So idk how far it is with tends.

here is my issue. i often times "shoot down" a zone, and make sure its all level 1s and does right? several runs in a row it will be just level 1s. so then i move my tent and set up elsewhere right? well not long after i ALWAYS get new deer in the zones i already shot down to level 1s! how am i supposed to ever get a real grind going when all my animals are moving across the map to zones i dont even use?? they are supposed to be zones that are external zones but yet i randomly get a diamond or a huge buck to spawn in a zone i havent even shot anything at in 50 runs. not to mention i cant get more than 3 or 4 diamonds stacked at once until it tapers off and quits spawning them.

I can't stand the argus scope. So much easier to take multiple animals down when you're using the hyperion. No huge black rim blocking half the screen and not too zoomed in so that you can't see other animals. I only use the zoom for when I'm shooting one thing and it's 300 m away or it's super cool and I want to get a good look at it

He is talking about drink zones. The tend/stand is only there for convenience, if you happen to have multiple zones that you can use a tend or stand with go for it. Technically you could do this without stands or tents but it would take a really long time to do.

You will absolutely have low level animals still spawn in main zones deep into the grind. You just have to shoot them, and keep on rotating! GL on the grind!

Got my 1st and 2nd diamonds on pc both Canada gooses All my progress on Xbox is gone so are all the rares and diamonds so I started again on pc and it took me 5 to 7 months to find my 1st diamond on Xbox it was a grey wolf red brown 979 score (old score system) and now it took me 3 days to find 2 diamonds. One was a 9.08 and the other 8.89 if I can recall.

I shot all my zones and stacked like 5 dimes in a few zones. Two in the same at 1900 kills dropped them at 1932-1933 kills a shot another one at 1934 and spawned my Great One at 1935 kills. That was yesterday at 10pm

Hey i’m starting a new White Tail grind on revountui and on my last grind their i had over 60+ zones. I have checked everywhere they could be on the map and only have about 40 zones but lots of the zones have lots of deer in it. Is this normal and how can i fix it?

Double check everywhere. You could also hunt moose which drink right after whitetail. The whitetail need zone indicators will be on the map for a few hours after they stop drinking. You could find a bunch that way. Good luck!

So I’ve been grinding for weeks but I’m still confused. With regard to secondary zones and main zones, how are you manipulating the zones to contain the levels you want? If you’re rotating through all of them evenly which I’ve been doing. What’s to stop the respawns from basically flip flopping on you and a zone that you want as a main turns into a secondary and a secondary turns into a main. I’ve been shooting evenly like the vids but the zones seem to choose when they want to make high levels appear or low levels appear. The only thing that makes sense in this vid is if a diamond spawns in a zone you don’t want then kill it. But what happens when it keeps coming back or dancing between levels ie red dear 8-7-7-6-7. I know I may have started it not knowing fully what to do and that may be a factor for the current state I’m in.

Stacking diamonds causes smaller spawns which is why when you shoot something big it may come back small. If something small spawns in a main shooting zone, you shoot it hoping for something bigger which will eventually happen. But when something small spawns at exterior zone, you leave it and move your set up to another zone to shoot it down. Come and watch and ask question at live streams. Ok that makes way more sense. I’ve always thought once you see lvl 4’s don’t shoot. But you’re saying shoot until you get bigger ones regardless of lvls to keep the zones maintained to the levels you want to keep. For example if I see a lvl 4 in a main zone shoot him to try to get him lvl 5 and higher? Do so have that correct?

I dont shoot females on any grind except red deer and black bear. Black bear to move them off of my main lakes, and red deer just for a chance to get a rare female for the multi mount.

I’m reallly new to the game, like I don’t even have a single diamond and I think I want an albino lion first so would I go to every lake, place a tent around that area then go from lake A kill all the male or female lions then go to lake B then change the time n repeat? Or stay at the lake with the most drink zones ? And exterior zones are just level 1 n 2 that’s kinda confusing

So do you need to just pick 16drinkzones out of all the other zones qnd only shoot down 8 of the 16 zones and stack the rest of the 8 main zones. So that means like for fallow the rest of the 20-30 drink zones you just let them be on the map and dont shoot them down.

You shoot the mid levels at every zone but when something small spawns at main shooting lakes, you can shoot it and get it out. You rotate on all 16 zones - main and exterior in the same rotation

I have a question that I've have yet to see answered anywhere. Does your grind reset every time you shut the game down? As in do your deer spawns reset every time or is there some sort of save of progression? Or are you having to start fresh every time?

No your deer stay exactly the same except for what is respawning

You shoot the diamond once all of your exterior lakes are shot down. Then they’ve served their purpose

Got an question about black bear fur colors; Is the spirit fur exclusive to FO? Every where I have looked says they are, but I have a male and a female that says they have spirit fur type nether of which are FO. They don't really look like spirit fur type, but I don't have much reference to what spirit looks like. Did my game just bug out or is this possible?

No there's a spirit furtype for Brown Bears. But not for Black Bears
