FYI, when you read the chip, it loads whatever is on there to the buffer. So when you verify, it is not checking to the bin you attempted to burn, but to whet ever it read from the chip.

i got a old sytle time light may be he didnt set my time right on the chip..it suppose to be at 0 but no power at o and i adjust it to 8 degrees and ite mush better but that idle is still high

The timing light would have to be set up differently...the shift light in HTS is the CEL (check engine light)

I would wipe all the drivers and delete the software and start fresh again maybe it got messed up

Ok I just got a civic with chipped p28ecu. It's got jdm d15b in car. Idk what tune it has where could I buy that Montes burn 2 chip burn thing. Also thinking of turbo car later am I able to get a new chip burn a turbo tune on a chip useing that

So most SST chips are rewritable so yes you should be able to rewrite it….as far as the burner you can order it from the website

Awesome info man. Got a question for you. I would like to tweak the current tune I have. Will the burn2 read the current tune I have so I can save and make adjustments to it or would I have to start fresh if I don’t have the original tune already downloaded?

So you can read and save the tune that is on the SST chip but some software does not cross over completely. For instance regular Chrome files sometimes come through messed up, but Chrome Gold files work perfectly

@@DIYKAI i bought the chip with a basemap on it from HAMotorsports. I doubt its fake, maybe it just fried it self idk, on crome i can grab the tune file but i cannot burn onto chip

@@throttlefilms HA is a great place to get them we did many videos for them. Your settings or computer may be the issue

i have a question for you ..i got a 1990 k5 blazer tbi and i did some up grade on my engine and put a bigger cam in it so i had some one burn my chip and now the idle is up to high when i frist start it up its fine but once i put it in gear the idle goes up to about 1000 rpm and wont go back down what i want to no is it something on the chip where you can adjust that idle ..or should i do it

What size cam? 5.7 smallblock? Have you check distributor timing and all vacuum lines look ok?

Idle is adjustable to my knowledge. With a bigger cam you want idle to be up a bit to compensate for the loopyness useless thats your goal

also when i click erase chip and then go to check if blank it says chip is NOT blank. even though i just erased it.

Honest question..I've had a eg ls turbo sitting for 14 years ..legit never finished it.. I have a p75 socketed and chipped with a basemap (back then everyone was doing chips) now there is no one around here.. do I spend the $100 to buy the burner and new chips. Or the $499 on hondata and start new?? I just dug the car out since my son wants to drive it.

Honestly it's up to you and how you want to actually "tune".....chips are older technology but that does not mean its useless.....if you like to do things yourself then a burner and some chips are you best bet......it takes a bit an there are extra steps but I use chips in my Hondas and its just as good as a s300 IMO

So just understand the difference chip cheapest more work as in pulling the chip out and burning it... Ostrich 2.0 is another device as well Demon let's you hook and write directly to the ECU S300 is what most tuners use

i put xe262h comp cam i have headers on it i got 3704 edelbrock intake i had the engine rebuild i got about 2300 miles on it now..the block was 30 over i have 700r trans 4.10 gears and i have 35x12.5 15 inch tires on it.. in it and i upgraded my torque converter took the stock one out and got a 2200 to 2400 stall tbi spacer and injector spacer up graded my fuel pump a.c delco ep 38 pump the guy that burn my chip i dont think hes that good he told me to set timing at 0 degrees i had my truck for a long time and my truck never ran at 0 degrees i think it was at 8 degrees and it ran beauitul the only reason i had it rebuild is because it started smoking burning oil ..let me say this i move the timing up and it run mush better than at 0 so i dont no what he advance ot up tooi dont want to keep driving it with that idle up like that ..he telling me to adjust the screw..i dont think thats the problem i think its something he did..let me no what you think..

88-98 k truck require a scan tool able to set base distributor timing in order to get it correctly i had the same issue

@@thedobermangang3503 Put the IC system in the bypass mode by disconnecting the “set timing” connector. This is a single wire sealed connector that has a tan with black stripe lead. This connector breaks out of the wiring harness below the heater case in the passenger compartment. With the ignition switch “OFF”, connect the pickup lead of the timing light to the number one spark plug. Use a jumper lead between the wire and plug or an inductive type pickup. Start the engine, and aim the timing light at the timing mark. The line on the balancer or pulley will line up at the timing mark. The timing should be 0° TDC (454 engines - 4° BTDC). If a change is necessary, loosen the distributor hold‐down clamp bolt at the base of the distributor. While observing the mark with the timing light, slightly rotate the distributor until the line indicates the correct timing. Tighten the hold‐down bolt, and recheck the timing Turn “OFF” the engine and remove the timing light. Reconnect the number one spark plug wire, if removed. Reconnect the “Set Timing” connector
